They have a deficiency of sorts with brain chemistry so in a sense yeah, but it can be treated with medication.

This post is so full of troll-intent that I dunno what to say.

Yes, I do. Individuals with ADHD are obviously superior beings.

It's an opinion. Besides, how do I know if someone has ADHD? They say it first without being asked. "Oh, I have ADHD."
Then, try to quickly counter it with, "oh, so you're lazy, huh?"

A couple days later, they show improvement at work. "I thought you have ADHD? Perhaps you just don't want to be called L.A.Z with a y."

I agree with my occasionally wise mother on this one in that people with ADHD were not originally a problem, they were merely different and their difference helped the entire tribe survive. Their strengths and skills are merely different, and don't fit in with what is now societally acceptable. A lot of people with ADHD working in the right industry make excellent workers, but if you put them in a classroom or office situation they will not do well.

I believe in getting to know yourself, and then learning coping skills for situations you might not be very good at.

While this is partially true, there are some people with ADD & ADHD that do excel in office environments or even school environments.

It's really all about how its treated and what the persons interests are.

You're not too far off the mark, but it's not because someone wants to it's literally because they dont have the drive, they have that lack of focus.

Coming from someone with ADHD it's all about medications and the right stimulations, and from what i've heard there are quite a few celebrities out there that have some form of ADD or ADHD. It's also said that a lot of more common things like dyslexia and other forms of "off" thinking stem from ADD in a way. The lack of focus is caused by chemical imbalance in the brain, but when it comes to certain things, which are referred to a "Hyper Focus" we excel at it.
