Okay, so i think i'm probably in the minority of the population that actually finds reading unbearably boring. But i'm not sure, maybe i'm not so strange. I was always under the assumption that reading was something that you were supposed to love doing, but i just can't find the same enjoyment in a book as i can find in any other medium.

The short version is that required reading throughout my school just made reading feel like too much of a chore and that feeling just never went away. I do have some favorite books that i read, and have read them again out of enjoyment, but not enough to count for anything.

So how about you, Crunchyroll? Do you all enjoy reading, or do you find it tedious for the most part?

Books are for nerds.

I would read if it didn't take so bloody long. Much rather spend my time more productively like staring at forums for a few hours, or looking at cats being idiots.

*eyes her crammed bookcase* Nooo, I don't read for pleasure at all. I don't absolutely love bookstores, either. /sarcasm

I'm running out of space. My backlog is crazy, too. And don't get me started on my manga + artbook addiction, either.

*raises hand* Of course. I wouldn't be without my Nancy Drew novels in my pocketbook.

It depends. I don't read many novels unless they're really good. Yet for some reason, I have like...30-50 novels. 70% of them being Star Wars, and have only read like...10 of them.
I like reading manga tho. But it's expensive, and I like having physical copies.
Odd thing is...Every time I get forced to do something like a lextile test, which essentially tests reading skills, I always score really high. Last time I remember doing one, I was a few hundred points higher than 12th grade while I was in 7th grade.
tl;dr because you're lazy like me:

I love to read. I used to rack up a ton of AR points in elementary. I read like 150-200 books a school year. I really loved to read. But then when I got into Junior High I didn't have as much time to read, I tried to make time but its hard. Being a sophomore in HS now I just want to go home get my homework done and then just relax and watch TV. I feel too tired to get myself invested in a book. Cause for one thing I'll want to stay up late and read it, that'll just ruin my sleep schedule more.. I'm trying to read through the 1st Game of Thrones novel right now though. Haven't made a lot of progress but I am getting there

Eh, I love reading but (when I was younger anyway) that seemed to be somewhat unusual. If nothing else, Rowling's Harry Potter series at least seems to have helped a significant portion of children become interested in books again.

I've lost count of the number of times I've reread some of my favorites, but I don't get nearly as much time to read as I used to. Hell, I spent a week vacationing on an island last month and I spent the majority of it absorbed in books rather than at the beach. I'm a cool guy.

I only find reading tedious when I have no interest in the book. When I was in junior high, I looked for books that would interest me, but I stopped caring in high school. I've only finished one book in the past 6 years and read nothing but manga and subtitles now

I HATE reading, it's too boring for me x( a lot of friends has encouraged me to read and recommended me some good books but I just can't get past 5 pages /: no wonder I always get low grades on my English classes, we need to read a book every month and write 15 page essays. So yeah, I just missed those humongous amount of grades.

Manga is a different story though

Didn't read many books for most of my life and reading has mostly been a chore for me. It's been changing in the past years though and now I really enjoy it. School is definitely one of the reasons why I haven't given books much of a chance before. There's just something tedious about starting a book when you know you have to analyze it and do assignments.
