I been wondering since with all the recent talk on the minimum wage at least on here should there be a limit to how much any one person can earn? Personally i'm all for capitalism where your earning potential should be limitless.
Between the 3 major types of economies capitalism gives people the most freedom in choosing what kind of business they want to run, what jobs they want to do and so on.
I'll be going by these graphs if anyone wants to add feel free

Please Note I want this to be a proper discussion not getting into petty attacks against one another

Well communism never worked and if they worked hard for it I don't mind someone earning more than me. Only thing I have issues with is people bragging about how much they earn. ^^

limits are everywhere, limits like time .... there is no way to get around time so if you can only have ALL the dollars in the multiverse that is a limit and you dont have time to make more because time runs out ...

simple answer is yes there are and should be limits even if infinity is the limit it is still a limit

A good example of how I hate people bragging about how much they earn is when I had a conversation with someone the other day it panned out like this.

Friend - So how much do you earn when you're going to be training in the army?
Me - About 20 grand something like that.
Friend - Oh my god that's so bad!
Me - Why?
Friend - Well my Dad is a net worker and he earns 50 grand a year!

Yeah I wasn't too chuffed with him for that.

I started out working small jobs and I knew that was something I did not want to do the rest of my life so if I saw a job that paid more I went for it. I made sure to give my 2 weeks and work those 2 weeks normally to leave on good terms "just in case" until I started out as a mechanic helper for a oil company. One thing to remember is don't be afraid to take chances when they come up. A swamper came in drunk and they ask me to fill in I said sure ended up doing that full time and got a pay bump for helping out when they needed it. From there worked till I had an accident and they moved me to help dispatch. From there did my work efficiently and the safety guy they had left for a different company. Nobody wanted that position because they only gave you a month to learn the job and if you couldn't they let you go. I jump at the chance did a lot of reading on osha regs, environmental, dot and most importantly made friends with other safety guys to help out when needed. Made a nice living had an offer to move up north for the same work but no thanks i'm happy in the sun. Now I had one offer to travel around the country and the pay was very good but I hate dealing with the tsa so I rather content where I am, but if I wanted to I could make double what I am now and that is the beauty of capitalism.

As for capitalism that the way it should be if you're willing to put in the work, time and effort, with a little luck on the side you could make something out of your life.

It should go by location.

If the average salary of where you live is ____, your's should not be 2x that. It should be a limit, like it's $10,000 or less higher.

This is the problem where I live. Started off as a middle class area, got an influx of wealthy immigrants, now homes are easily $1-5 million dollars each. There's some homes even higher than that, up to like $8-9 mil. Whereas I am still middle class, and we can't afford that, so I'm some blue collar dude living in an area I can't afford to breathe near.

Keep it level, keep it simple, and keep it fair.
