We need an ego to survive.
Everyone has one, you can't deny it.

They can be funny as an outsider, but when they begin to shove their oversaturated ego in your face, it can become annoying. Like if you befriend and egotistical douchebag, and said egotistical douchebag only constantly talks about how great they are, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn.

I seriously thought the hormone testosterone caused egos like that was end result. I agree being around egocentric people is kinda boring and makes me repel them

I think many times where this big ego/ignorat/hatred comes from depression/lonely but maybe not the way you see them (like people can become mad from it)
from (liking of doing/seeing so too much ego and this can become a liking) torture etc could be because of this or how you feel not worthy or felt like things didn't go how they should, then left sitting in the "mud" that drives to this likings.

I could see those scenarios I also think someone with enormous power almost becomes drunk and is looking for some sort of release being sex or bullying working out in gym

It's about relativity though... You could just be a really humble, quiet and modest person and that's how you were brought up and that identity has worked for you... and then you smash heads with some really outgoing, brutally honest but proud person... To that person, it would be normal...

Of course there are some "openly" arrogant and egoistic people.

But there are also those who are only termed egoistic due to other people's criticisms...

I haven't led any of their lives. They haven't led mine...

They're not feeding you. Move on with your life.

I think it is the result of being raised believing they are entitled to things. People who have been through hell and back rarely have this problem since they've seen things from the other side and understand the things that truly matter.

But thats also a reason why they won't feel or get this cind of "depression" since they have felt it before hand.
If you are that "suppresed" you can have a rather hard time feeling those hard times and want rather to go on someone else.

i have the opposite of a big ego i'm one of those.

"Everyone is better then me " people.

Though the only time i feel supreme then other people is when someone is doing something moronic and pathetic.

Ego can be used as a tool as long as its not taken too seriously, because at the end of the day, its just a social construct.

I have a 2 people in my life that are absolutely full of themselves and won't listen to any sort of different opinion because they just don't want to hear it. They twist your words on you and don't care to hear from a different perspective, I just want them out of my life >-<
