The problem is that CN wants cartoons that sell well. They don't want to put re-runs of previous cartoons on the air, unless they get lots of money in return. TV has changed and it's changed for the worst.

At least they got Pokemon.

That's the only show I would watch in that channel if I had it.

What do kids these days watch for cartoons these days anyway.
I do like Regular Show and Adventure Time but what comes after that.
Even adults like those 2 shows, everything else is pretty much crap.

Courage the Cowardly Dog actually gave me a lot of nightmares because of the art and story style........

All the current CN shows aren't as entertaining as the ones before but "We Bare Bears" sums up most of my life except that i'm not a bear so that show is good i guess.

But not a lot of people watch TV nowadays, we have Netflix, Crunchyroll, more programs, and the Internet, the hell do you need TV for?

I so emphasize with all of you. I gave up on CN a while back and just walked away. The new management's push for live action at first and then mindless comedy toons drove me nuts. Why do so many companies think kids are brainless?

I keep hearing good things about Steven Universe but so far it seems that one's physical release is another case of "random episodes" syndrome. (At least it looked like that to me, correct me if I'm wrong). Any legal place to watch the eps in some kind of proper order.

I heard SU has something called a "plot" that actually progresses but don't tell the children because they don't understand such things.

Add to that for new shows they want the cheapest ones to air and then it's easy to understand why they are keeping the current formula. It make them tons of money.

I do not like the new formula so I do not watch the shows. 30-seconds of Uncle Grandpa and I need medication

Cartoon Network just seems to be operated by atheist...everything just seems a little skewed against religion every time... moral oral, the show with devils in it... the jail show looks like it is for someone on acid. I guess I should say I don't like adult swim because of the above. The other shows are just not for me but aren't as bad... I also don't care for their choices of anime for toonami.. just seems like they like horror and gore which I refuse to watch. I am curious if their ratings have suffered because I don't know who would watch some of those shows I'm guessing people are just forgetting to change the channel because they went to bed and left the tv on... they are just shows that makes you feel dumber after watching them...

There are really 3 groups involved at Cartoon Network. The daytime group - Teen Titans Go! (which is based off the comic that was based off the CN cartoon, which was based off the 80's Teen Titans comics), Steven Universe (possibly the best storytelling they've done since Samurai Jack), Gumball, which is probably their most everyone can watch this show, though not nearly on par with Phineas and Ferb, and Adventure Time, who's popularity I can only attribute to the dog who shares a VA with Bender, is supposed to target the tween to teen range.

The worst part is every time they get a show that's good or at least tolerable, Atomic Betty, Johnny Test, Symbiotic Titan, Young Justice, Beware the Batman you get 5 that range from forgettable to a waste of resources. Good shows got shafted, bad ones run ad nauseum until their licenses run out. Granted, Young Justice screwed up the fun/dark balance and hamstrung itself badly. It tried to be epic and deep while not being the Justice league, but Teen Titans basically did that without the cameos.
Frankly, most of the time it seems like they just throw crap at the wall and what ever slides down slowest gets put on the air, explaining why un-entertaining, unfunny crap like Clarence and a show with an incest based title like "Uncle Grandpa" ever made it to air. It's not remotely funny, and I would honestly rather sit through a Muppet Babies marathon (a real 26 hour one) than sit through a single episode of that drivel. It has the rancid, weed soaked stench of Williams Street to it, which leads us to team 2, (or the reason Cartoon Network has sucked for the last 10, 12, years,) Adult Swim.

Initially, Adult Swim was simply cartoons not really suited for younger kids, along with some more experimental stuff that was at least interesting. It was a place where The Boondocks could be aired and do well. That quickly devolved once they started creating shows that apparently are funny if you're stoned, drunk, high on cheap weed or a combination of those. They found the lowest common denominator, then made shows for its idiot loser brother and his loser friends. They persisted in this pursuit of finding and airing things old magazines like Mad Cracked, Sick and Crazy would turn their noses at because it was too low brow for them. That is to say it was the puddle of filth the barrel they scraped the bottom of was sitting in.
End result? Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell, every Aqua Teen show, Black Jesus, and Mr. Pickles, among many, many, many awful shows too numerous to name. Rick & Morty would be a ton better if the animation weren't such an awesome example someone desperately trying to make us all relive their worst drug addled fever dreams.

Then there's the battered beaten but not quite dead Toonami. Picking up where the SciFi channel left off before it started licensing shows made after 1980 and decided it was too good for Anime. It was for some the source of televised anime in the 2000s until it Adult swim usurped everything after 7pm and left us with just Saturday night/Sunday morning, which was something at least. Then it came back, and so far has been ok save for leading off with what drove many away in the first place, an excess of DragonBall Z. The problem of Dragonball was put into perspective for me when a friend who knew I liked anime asked why everyone in the show seems to be so very badly constipated all the time. That actually made show watchable for me.

I do wonder why they're adding Parasyte to the line up instead of well, almost anything else. Hell Argevollen or Majestic Prince would do, but I guess it's either a rider of some show they actually wanted or they simply must have a show where things go from mundane to horrible monsters in an instant in the lineup, and Attack on Titan wasn't quite twisted enough for the 1am slot. But what they have now isn't awful - Last night's SAO was a tearjerker, and Akame Ga Kill is an odd, but interesting show. Michiko & Hatchin, well I bought the blu-ray after seeing in on Toonami, which is how it's supposed to work.

One hopes for another (or just more) Space Dandy, or that Beware the Batman gets a proper second chance, but looking at the daily lineup, it's all reruns of about 5 shows. Couldn't tell you what's on broadcast TV anymore cartoon wise if there even is anything anymore...
