Does Feminism Really Help ALL Women? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28tim3xgUj8

This person is really spot on because she basically talked about white feminism with more detail & examples.

Then fifth... then the sixth... etc.

Depending on the generations, they'll differ slightly. One will be more useful than the other, and one will be completely useless compared to the others.

Like how original/traditional are. Pretty useless.
They're just beliefs. They don't actually do anything/make a difference.

Third wave essentially was about being more inclusive of other types of women, the problem was such a large majority of loud spoken women fell into the pool of the modern feminism and influenced the core beliefs as to what now people consider third wave feminism because they are the majority of. More inclusion was an original goal of third wave feminism, for all types of feminism.

Useless to you because they're a much smaller pool compared to modern and radical feminism presently. If they're so useless, then you're basically stating that majority opinions should not be challenged.

I know.

Majority or not. If they don't actually do anything & choose to stay with their Ralph Nader-like opinions/beliefs, then I don't think they can actually be challenged.

I don't know how old most Crunchyroll users are, but this is something a lot of UK University students should have experienced too:

In most universities, there are student societies, where like-minded students can work together on things they are interested in. Of those universities, most feature the infamous "Diversity Liberation Front". For those who don't know it's basically white feminism, extreme left-wing policies and hatred of white males rolled into one. If you are a white male, no matter what your views they turn you away, because of atrocities commited by people who carried them out before you were even born :/ (Slavery, suffragetes etc.)

I just find it amazing that a large-scale group that claims to value freedom, independance and equality finds no fault in using discrimination against those they find inferior. It's like we went from Mr Hitler to Mrs Hitler.

I know what feminist original values were. But now look more like an asshole/hate group.

And every time I look up what one group is doing, it look like is all about give benefits to women over man. Even thou it should be equal rights or to the bare minimum. Equal opportunity.

yeah I always hated that, blaming or shaming guys for just being guys, specially white cis males get hate. Like its their fault for being born that way. Is there privilege? Yeah there is. So then they proceed to try to bring them down. It seems like raw negative envy. Turning into a hatred group against another group. Modern feminism is nothing more than a hate group.

Feminism today is nothing but a joke.
I had someone on facebook that I had to block in the end. She was a hardcore crazy feminist. I argued with her a few times on different things. On one occasion she brought up something that happened to her that day at the train station. Apparently she was with her boyfriend, a guy, head down accidentally bumped into her... And apologised to her boyfriend. Now instead of taking a step back, looking at why it may have played out that way. Maybe the guy thought he bumped into him and not you, maybe he was just saying sorry quickly and it looked to you that he said it to the boyfriend... Maybe he was intimidated by the boyfreind was was scared of him possibly lashing out... The list can go on. No, it was because he didn't see her as a person, as much as owned by the bf.... Mmm, that's the first thing you think and don't even play with other possibilities.

But that was a bit of a rant, and I won't go on any more about one crazy feminist.
It's about who has it worst. As in their eyes the people who have it worst and suffer the most "oppression" have the most say, and deserve the most limelight. So it becomes them tearing at each others throats, trying to prove themselves. When in reality feminism has won all it's battles at this point in the west. It's come to spreading miss information or over reacting over small things. I will never ever forgive them for how they blew up over the poor scientist guy daring to wear a shirt a female friend made for him. Never ever ever. Every time I see it, my blood boils... And that isn't a one off in any stretch of the imagination.

This thread would serve some purpose if the shitty side of feminism was anything close to a minority. As it is, you can draw all the lines in the sand you want but without a major fundamental change, feminism as a whole will continue to do more harm than good.

The implosion of feminism has begun

If anything brings down feminism it won't be the might of the patriarchy, "rape culture" or even misogyny, it will be other feminists.

People back then thought the same thing about feminism during the previous waves.

People tend to purposely boil things down or only show attention to the shitty ones you hate so much. They know how gullible & how easy it is for people to misinterpret things for the worse.
Its called propaganda.

Its to make you think feminism is so bad & isn't needed.
If you really care for womens rights, you'd look past those, majority or not, and attempt see the point instead of turning it down completely because of that one girl who insulted you for being a straight white cis male or w/e.

Unfortunately, it is not "one girl" that he is talking about, and the opposition to the current forms of feminism is not caused by incidents with lone individuals.
Whether or not the extreme third-wave feminists are a majority, they certainly have enough people to organize online hate-mobs against scientists who wear the wrong shirt or tell an inappropriate joke, enough people to convince universities to set up speech codes to try to ban students from using words that offend them, or to have universities set up what are effectively guilty-until-proven-innocent rules regarding rape accusations.
I would hope that you are right about these extremists being a minority, but in light of recent events that honestly sounds analogous to somebody claiming that the USSR is not an example of how communism works in practice.

As for the video at the beginning of the thread: The Huffington Post is barely above sites like Buzzfeed and Cracked.com in terms of rigor in journalism, just look at the nonsense that they have posted promoting alternative medicine (i.e. claims that enemas can prevent H1N1 flu or just about anything Deepak Chopra blurts out).

Kind of reminds me of hearing so many American Protestant preachers talk about how Catholics are not real Christians, or the Bolshevik vs. Menshevik and Leninist vs. Maoist splits in Communism (for those of us who know a bit about Russian history, like me).

Nice post. There's a reason today more than 80% of women believe in gender equality, but less than 25% identify as feminists. The movement lost a lot of momentum by scrutinizing the mediocre. Most women turned away from it and want nothing to do with it anymore. I mean just going on my Facebook I got some idiot sharing a story about a girl that got her image removed on a website because it depicted menstrual blood and oh the horror to have had it removed. Lol.
