Nah.

I have friends who I consider family and vice versa.

But family will always be family. We get under each other's skin all the time, but in the end, we'll always love each other and have each other's backs.

I suppose I do. Mostly because my friends understand me, my family just think I'm a recluse but really I just can't connect with them on a personal level unlike my friends. It all comes down to a lack of understanding.

Well if I had friends that acted like my parents I probably wouldn't be friends with them :\

Yeah, this really describes it for me.

It's not that I don't love or respect my parents, but I find it easier to be around my friends because they don't push my buttons quite as much.

I went to a barbecue that my parents threw over the summer and left after about three and a half hours (during which time no food was served, might I mention) because I was hosting a birthday party for my friend since her bathroom was being renovated so she couldn't host it herself. Then my relative told me that "family is more important". The fact that I attended and stayed for three to four hours is me showing my respect and love, because even if I hadn't anything else to do that day I still would have left after that long because I'm an introvert. They wouldn't get it though, so it seems more polite to just lie and give excuses to leave. Not to mention, I have a stubborn personality so if someone says something like that to me, I am more likely to snub them because I hate that they think I'm obliged to do these things.

My friends know better than to say these things to me, because they take the time to get to know me and accept me.

My husband is number one though, but he's more in the friends category because I picked him.

My mother pushes my buttons like no one else can do. Why does she get up at 5:30 am on a holiday week-end. Why must the TV be on like max volume? Why does she decide to do laundry at 6:30 am on holiday week-end?Why does she talk to me threw the walls when I am in the bathroom? Then when its time for me to leave she tears up and I feel guilty for leaving its an emotional roller coaster wtf?Love my mom but its always attest of courage how long I can go without losing my temper

I do, but under the circumstances I feel I don't have much of a choice. Both my parents are dead, and although I have a sister and step father, we don't keep in touch and the rest of the family hasn't bothered to contact me or answer my calls for years now.

Therefore, I consider my friends more like family...Kind of like Lucy in Fairy Tail!

I personally think I treat strangers better than friends and families.

I should act more like an asshole to strangers.

Hmmm.... A tough question!

I suppose there's a little of column A, a little of column B. I'm much more open and honest with friends than I am with family, but I put more effort into being there for my family than my friends.

I have recently found myself in a position where I don't like/trust my friends as much as my family. My family are close to me, but in the end, I just value being alone and having net friends more rewarding.

yes, i treat my friends much better than my own family. communication between me and my family is very limited due to the fact that they speak an entirely different language, and my primary language is english. i feel bad about it, but they still treat me like shit.

go figuree
