It's not a problem as long as they understand how to follow the laws of their new home. Learning English shouldn't be mandatory, although it would help if they had someone close to them (ie. their children) who could translate for them. There should also be easier access to programs and institutions that offer teaching English to immigrants that want to learn.

If it isn't hurting anyone, I don't see why culture shouldn't be practiced

If you move to a country and don't at least make an effort to assimilate and respect the local culture you deserve to get kicked out.

actually some people do and still aren't good at it

If they are trying thats different. If they fly the flag of there home country and REFUSE to learn the language that is a problem.

It's like going to someone's house and refusing to follow their rules. I heard some people talking about how it's rude for a host to ask the guests to remove their shoes. Like...really? GTFO and I hope the door doesn't bruise your buttocks when I slam it behind you. If the rules aren't ridiculous, you sure as hell should follow them.

We all have our opinions and mine is that immigrants shoulden't have to assimilate. I see keeping ones culture ,roots ,language etc:) is a way of keeping your identity alive." Lose your identity and you lose your mind"

You act as though that's something most immigrants do.

They should have to respect the country's culture and language, and also their laws. If they attempt to impose their own then that's not on.

I have no problem with immigrants supporting their home country. Over a 100 years, my home town still celebrates the fact it was Dutch settled and supports the Netherlands during FIFA. They can refuse to learn the language, it is ok. Their grand/children will learn it in school.
