Is CR planning on getting the OVA's for To Love Ru? Even though Motto To Love Ru is season 2, the OVA's required because the introduced new characters to the series.

I dont think i've seen any OVA's on CR, so its very unlikely. Most of the legal streaming sites dont seem to pick up OVA's for whatever reason.
You could try Hulu but I have no clue if they even pick up OVA's or not.

Yea I guess your right, CR don't pick up too many OVA's. In addition, OVA's are scattered all over the internet making them hard to find so I was just hoping the CR would've pulled though and got them.

Yeah i know your pain, normally i dont care about ova's due to them being not relevant to the story more often than not, but in this case there was so much missing, then of course i discovered after watching a few episodes of darkness, found out there was motto and ova's I was grr.

Even Sentai, which has the home video licenses for the different TLR series, doesn't have the OVAs.

They would certainly be nice to have, but it is quite doubtful it will happen.

I've noticed that about OVA's why is it generally that the studios dont even get them?

Is it more of they dont want them or just cant get the license for them?

OVAs are typically "bonus" material meant to entice you into buying the physical media it comes with. As such, the publishers see it as a way to increase profits by generating sales, rather than to air it anywhere (including Japan) and just give it away.

In some cases, the OVAs come far enough after the series is completed that they can't be wrapped up in the same contract negotiation as the series, which bumps up the cost. In other cases, especially for OVAs that are actually OADs (anime discs bundled with manga volumes), the licensing may be under a completely different entity. Very few OADs are ever licensed for distribution in the west.

In the end, it either comes down to "We simply can't license it" or "We believe the license would cost more than we could make on it".
