nothing too far away so stopping here would be perfect of an stop for the chain train!
(nothing bad of sharing eachothers view and nothing that lead totally off tracks)

One day in college we were talking about the how the older generation believe in spanking. I said my grandparents fully believed that. I had to step back when one girl described her parents's spanking. She'd get tied spread eagled over a barrel and whipped on her bare back and buttocks. That I call torture. She was laughing telling us this, good old discipline to keep her on the straight and narrow path. Oh that punishment could be for things like lying, being disrespectful, not doing too well in school and coming home late.

"Beat their kids to death in the name of God" Well I know someone that will be burning in eternal fire.

Also Discipline and having my ass whooped with a belt got me to actually listen in school and go onto college.

Amen sister, sing it from the rafters. I am not encouraging unmitigated violence against young children but I see nothing wrong with teaching right from wrong and so forth using somewhat forceful examples. After all have you seen the youth of today, lazy and undisciplined the whole lot of them. They wouldn't last a single day in uniform.

People will use any ridiculous excuse these days to be violent. The whole world has gone insane.

I think it's ridiculous that people think YOU HAVE to hit your child. They act as if all children are the same ungrateful bunch they were and there might be truth to it, but it usually these people who have the LEAST experience with children acting like you need to hit your children.

People use religion as an excuse to pull BS on their child/children .Its one thing if the kid did something pretty bad to deserve a slap or two but its another thing to abuse their kid because they have to for no good reason whatsoever. In this case, the parent used a fucking steel pipe.
