Umm.. America is a huge melting pot. I'm technically an "American" by law, but I was raised European. But I still laugh at the stereotypes and jokes. That's like saying Japan is full of nerds, uptight business people, perverts, and cosplayers. Not everyone is like that lol

I find that they can be more outgoing and adventurous and fun than women from my country, but they tend to have more entitlement issues and aren't as good at submitting peacefully to an authority figure like a boss or some other group leader.

Tends to apply to people who were born and raised in the US and my country, respectively, not just women.

Can't have it all good anywhere, I suppose.

I came into this thread expecting a lot of stupidity from op, but thank god it's just a question. Haha.

There are rude, xenophobic people everywhere. The US as a whole gets a bad rep and rightfully so, but as individuals we're not terrible people. That being said, I don't want to spend the rest of my life here. Americans tend to be egotistic, overly patriotic, and pretentious when they're actually ignorant.

A lot of older Mexican ladies say that American women don't know how to cook or clean.

If America is anything, it is diverse.

It is pointless to apply a single stereotype to the entire population.

I try to deal only in specifics, and the American women I know seem pretty average. I'm Canadian though, so I don't know that many American women.

You know, as an American, it honestly bothers me when I hear other people stereotype Americans.

What these issues always seem to come down to is people naturally drawn to the bad things over the good. I mean, what are people going to watch more, the video where my crazy cousin is threatening bodily harm against some poor store clerk, or the other video where my sister-in-law is donating food to charity?

You can have a thousand hours worth of Americans doing good, and people generally wont bat an eye, but the moment one crackpot does something bad, everyone says "Oh man, these Americans are all evil and stupid!"

At least we live in a country where we CAN say and do these things, if we really want to. Doesn't mean we should, but we can. Which I'm at least thankful for. I'd rather have the option and deal with the occasional nut than not have it at all, like a lot of other places.
