Does Crunchyroll Need a Larger Team for Contests?

Alright, I know I'm newer here, but this is something that I care about so--

Here we go!

Where has the contest community gone?

This was something that I was super excited about when joining Crunchy. In fact, the reason that I found this site was due to me just googling around and finding the Halloween Pumpkin Carving contest. So, I was really sad when I found out that events were not all that common.

I'd open up this question to the forum:

Does Contest-Hime needs help designing and running these contests?

I want to open up a forum here, and show Contest-Hime how much we care about being able to share both our art and our competitive sides.

I think the contest community is gone because the contests/winners/and timelines for them are all sporadic and seemingly random, the contests generally lack specific criteria and judges/staff are often MIA when someone tries to find an answer to one of their ambiguous rules.

It's awesome that they do contest and it adds a LOT to the community, but do they need serious help designing and running them? For the love of all that is holy, a million times yes.

I agree with you there, Punk.

I think that it can be addressed by having a team of "contest-specific" users or team that basically runs the contests from start to finish. Ideally, it would begin with a detailed schedule-- I think people need to know when and what the contests are.

I think it would help the community, but a well-run contest corner could help Crunchy as a whole. I mean, that's why you do these things, right? To create a personal tie to your company and service, and this is somewhere where I think we can help Contest-Hime the most.

I wish I could get in contact, quickly of course, with Contest-Hime to discuss some ideas I have to successfully run this part of the site. *Only because I have pprofessional experience in Marketing -- Blah blah I'm boring--*

Howdy!

So, on this topic...
Keeping on top of contests both via the front page of Crunchyroll as well as here in the forums takes quite a bit of time as well as volunteer work.

Contest-Hime is actually going to be going on hiatus here for a bit.
We're considering how Contest-Hime fits into the spectrum of contests across Crunchyroll so she may return at a future date.

I can absolutely think about recruiting volunteers for additional help.

Hey there, Baker!

I definitely think there is a way to recruit a team of volunteers to lighten the load on the CR side of things.

If you would allow me a few minutes on a soapbox, I have a proposal for a new Contest Corner that runs almost exclusively off of this team. I would love to talk you through some of my ideas that will build the site's reputation and community.

Just let me know,
