Ouch, good information; however, information that I do not want to read. Perhaps, Crunchyroll can work out some sort of deal.

As you said even regular iTunes doesn't even have a lot of it due to Japan wanting you to pay more for music, I could see maybe streaming music type of system but downloading is more than likely out of the question.

Money talks, and when Japan begins to feel the music industry hurting, then they may switch to MP3 format selling base and distribute a lot more internationally.

Indeed Amazon sells some, but I was searching for Kylee - Daisukinanoni, and she does sell some of her other music there, but not that one. I'm a sad panda

Yeah I know I just always like to throw that question out when people say they like everything but X genre (I usually put Japanese wall noise in that category but you already mentioned a dislike of industrial).

Back on topic I think its important to note that the mainstream music industry in Japan is itself fairly self sufficient so there is no real incentive for them to do such a thing. That kinda also means that there is no real harm to the industry from westerners pirating music. The harm comes to people and companies who want to import the stuff.

Know that im thinking about it, there might be a pretty profitable business venture in here. You know theoretically one of you could try an kickstart a website to import such songs as MP3s and bring them over here.

Right but in this case if even regular iTunes doesn't have it or google, both which make way more in 1 month than CR does in a year. I doubt CR will be the first ones to be doing something like this. I think CR would do better streaming the music than trying to buy it.

Like I said Bandcamp is the future of mp3 legal downloads.

i know some artists have their own website and lets user download their music for free (yes, even lossless format)
they do have an option to buy (more like donate), and lets you pay however much you like :p

Bandcamp is actually pretty high quality. They require you to turn it in lossless and the customer has the option for MP3s

I usually just go to websites and download them. Its nice to listen to them while I'm grinding Diablo. I don't convert because the music quality turns out horribly for me. Prefer to just download the entire album on some sharing website.

shhhh don't say that some ppl don't like piracy here!!

nah, for real. yall go look up Japanese CD prices, they're outrageous. Like even CDJapan is absurd because international TAXES are absurd. Costing half as much AS THE CD, if not AS MUCH AS the CD itself!!!

Why I just don't buy a lot of Japanese exports, and when I do, they're of jpop starlets that I REALLY like, one of which used to be Koda Kumi, but hell, even with one of her older CDs, I bought the "hong kong" edition, it's the same CD, manufactured in Japan in everything, except it's 10x cheaper because it's being sold in China. Sadly, they don't sell those online anymore @ stores that I've seen.

It's inconsequential to pirate this stuff as a westerner because most of its not licensed here so the Japanese companies have no reason to take much action since they don't distribute their stuff in U.S. stores, pretty much, at all. And even if they do, i have better things to spend my money on. Like food. And gas. And other expenses. I don't even download a lot of releases nowadays anymore, though.
