I was in my dorm room. I had just gotten up and turned on the TV for background noise when the video of the first tower caught my attention. I blinked and thought "what movie is this?" Then the newscaster started talking and I sat down quietly just muttering, "we were just there Christmas break".

The phone rang with an announcement from the faculty that those staying in the dormitories were not to leave campus and that all classes were cancelled until further notice. Then my parents called to make sure South Florida wasn't under attack too.

Then the second plane hit and I couldn't do anything but stare at the TV for at least an hour.

I was in the middle of class in 4th Grade in Arlington VA, didn't know what happened until I got out early. Afterwards, I'd looked out my third floor living room apartment window and saw smoke coming from the Pentagon and turned on the news to watched what happened.

I was stationed at Ft Hood, TX. My mind set was "Destroy whom ever sent those bastard" 14 years later that rage has turned to admiration for the fire fighters and police that run into danger, and a feeling of heart breaking loss for all the innocent lives snuffed out. This should be a National Holiday. Always tell the people you care about that you do care about them. You never know what may happen.

In my school in the UK and our teacher put the radio on in our science class so we could hear the announcement and I just remember feeling sick to my stomach thinking about all those innocent people.

I was sitting in my homeroom class in junior high. I still remember that the teacher had a missing toe. We discovered she was missing a toe since she wore sandals that day.

Eh, yeah, we got plenty of refugee's fleeing from Afganistan, Irak, Iran and other middle-eastern countries, but most of em don't come here to blow shit up, in fact, I can't recall a single explosion in the past 15 years being mentioned in swedish news, the only recent ones I can recall was the Boston bombing and the Twin Towers incident.

I remember being in class in first grade and all the teachers walking outside to the hallway. After awhile my teacher came back in crying and said we had a early dismissal. Once i got home my parents had the news channel on watching the horrific event take place.

I was sick at home, at the age of 2. However I remember the day vividly. Since I like in brooklyn, and the twins gave us all the NY channels, we had to watch news from NJ. I also remember my mom at home worrying about my dad, who was working in the city.

I was in the middle of class. It was 6th grade Social Studies. A teacher had entered my room and said that a plane had hit one of the towers. We had TV's in all of the rooms, and I watched it on channel 6.

I was at home sleeping off a night shift until about 3 or four pm. people were still trying to piece together what happened and the news photage was... memorable. No planes flew in our sky that day and many towns especially Gander newfoundland had to figure out how to accommodate more international passengers than their total population.

I was in class in Brooklyn, which was the borough next to where it happened. I remember we were all told to go home immediately and we were all clueless about what was going on. My grandma came to pick me up from elementary school and when I went back home, I was still clueless until my dad and sis came back home and told me to quickly turn on the TV to realize what actually happened.
