tbh it depends on the type of music the person listens to this is because people have different opinions in music. such as others would rather listen to r&b, hip hop, rap etc rather then rock

I used to like rap 10 yrs ago but it was going downhill fast soon after when Biggie Smalls died, in recent years almost all the “good” rappers became hasbins, died, thrown in jail/court, or get put in kids movies like Are we there yet? and the like, it's pathetic really, for me rap/hip hop died in 1997. And why is Jay Z always retiring and coming back all the time?

It aint dead but it surely has declined from what it use to be. People think of it as a positive evolution for it and I dont see how. Record sales in hip hop of today is an all time low and it aint recieved as much criticizm as it is now. but some people still think it is headed for the right direction.

Hell no, hip hop isnt dead. If your talking about mainstream hip hip like the stuff on t.v than yea. You cant even call that shit hip hop its just pop music but if you look deeper you will find that hip hop is still very much alive

hip-hop is NOT DEAD. they are on the DL 'til someone can bring it back. The reason hip-hop ain't doin so well right now is when it was popular, blacks were writing lyrics based on the struggle and the hard times they were going through. Now all artists can rap about is doin drugs and chillin with their Gs while smackin some random girls ass. But artists like Kanye, Common, Wyclef, n Nas are writing legit stuff about life in general n workin hard to achieve what you want. They are the ones who'll bring hip-hop back to stardom. So no. Hip-hop ain't dead
