Post Reply Is Cartoon Network better off now than it was during the mid 2000's?

I never watched Toonami, but it sounds like it sucks now, what with Akame Ga Kill and SAO.

The mid-2000's was better, imo.

Don't know if anyone's seen it, but the Total Drama series is really awesome.

Adventure time captures the same spirit as things like KND did for me when I was a child. However, things like KND and Billy and Mandy were the spirit in question. While I'm sure that Adventure time would've been the equivelant to KND in my childhood, one show couldn't be everything. I do very much enjoy regular show and Gumball but they wouldn't have been as influencial. Adventure time made me remember how I thought back when I was a child but back in the mid 2000s there were brilliant things and everything was at least fun to watch.

I think they had higher quality shows back in the day. I miss the afternoon toonami block and the original adult swim.

Absolutely not, at least from an anime standpoint. It used to be filled with quite a lot of anime shows throughout Saturdays having anime in the morning with Pokemon, then in the afternoon with the original Toonami block, and then Adult Swim for more mature stuff at night. But now, it's restricted to the late-night Toonami block and Pokemon, which is just four hours of programming, all while the rest of the day is filled with American-made stuff that I just don't care for, but still makes a bigger buzz among mainstream viewers overall. Certainly it doesn't help that the advent of streaming has diminished its role, but it doesn't exactly help that anime is being phased out.

It's good that CN put Zoids: Chaotic Century, Space Ghost, Birdman, Thundercats, Swat Kats and Megas XLR on they air. Too bad they forgot all about those shows.
