I use to eat school lunches back when i was in middle school, as they were actually somewhat satisfying. However once i got to high school, and the quality dropped and the price went up (Was like 3+ dollars depending on how much you wanted) i just stopped eatting >.< lol

This guy. British celebrity chef. Starts going on about school dinners being unhealthy, making schools all around England switch to "healthier" meals. Which usually consists of shitty sloppy boiled carrots and spinach. Before that I was happily eating my chips and pizza curry sauce combo, or giant spring rolls.

Jamie was a figure head. There was already a plan to change school meals and they needed someone to promote it so they got Jamie.

One one had I saw his point. I've seen someone choose chips and tinned spaghetti as a meal. Yes those turkey twizzlers needed to go. Having highly processed meat remnants with lots of additives as the only source of meat available in some schools most days was sad. On another point he was condescending and he bullied all parents to put their children on school meals when some had been coming with a packed lunch. Yes some of the ideas of a good packed lunch wasn't awful but not all packed lunches were like that. This meant those with a low budget that wasn't quite low enough to get free meals struggled to find the extra expense to keep up with the new imposed rule at schools. He sold the idea of school meals wholesale, everyone must join to make it more economically viable for schools to run their kitchens. I didn't like how he tried to shame a mother from one of the schools in the film project because he caught her buying cheap chicken in the supermarket instead of organic free range chicken which is the most expensive chicken.

These days there's still packed lunches in schools. It's just that parents are given guidelines on what a healthy meal looks like. Sweets, chocolates and fizzy drinks are banned. They'll be confiscated if brought it.

I ingested it but usually suffered it. The schools I attended were substandard in numerous ways. Incompetency was the norm.

I do not have particularly fond memories of school lunch. Pizza that was 75% bread, no toppings but pepperoni. Hamburgers that were just gross (though still better than McDonald's). The only vegetarian option they actually labeled "vegetarian sandwich" was just bread, cheese, and a packet of cream cheese. Like if it's vegetarian, maybe there should be VEGETABLES? And that's just high school. From the vague memories of elementary school, I know we never had a choice, but once a week we had to eat peanut butter and honey sandwiches. Eew, I get nauseous just thinking about them. I do not dislike peanut butter, nor honey. For some reason though, I've always found the combination to be vile.
I honestly preferred just bringing leftovers or a PB&J. But between my mom telling me that I needed to eat the school food cos we were poor and got it free, combined with the fact that when I was in high school, there was a negative stigma against bringing your own lunch (and I always tried to reduce my odds of being bullied) I generally ended up eating school lunch anyways. Oh well, still better than most fast food. Mostly more bland than actually gross to be honest.

P.S. I lied about bringing PB&J. I just wanted to sound normal. While PB&J is less gross than PB&Honey, I never really cared for PB&J either. My favourite was PB&Cheese.

We used to go crazy for every other Friday's school lunch. It was rectangular pizza slices and salad. I remember things like beef and brown gravy over mashed potatoes, Salisbury steak and chicken pot pie as well. It was never really bad tasting except for one food poisoning incident that had over 100 of us getting our stomachs pumped.

My school lunches don't necessarily taste bad, but they for sure aren't good for you. They mostly consist of pizza pops, cheese pizza, a wide selection of pop, and instant noodles. I just bring a lunch from home.

And it isn't considered "cool" to not like school lunches where I'm from. If anything, it's the opposite.

When I was in elementary, probably. I remember having the sudden realization one day that it all tasted like shit, and never touching it again. I've gone through phases trying to pack lunch. In HS I rarely ate lunch.

Yeah, occasionally. More often than not though, I'd take a couple People to either McDonalds or something of the like, or a Convenience store as both were close by the School. I got a lot of Gas money using this method back in High School.

My school lunch Isn't interesting or nothing bad, it doesn't have extreme good taste or terrible nastiness, its just dull, like the cheese on our pizza doesn't give as much "BOOM!" flavor other than the other pizzas I've tasted, not a lot of things are seasoned perfectly but meh who cares, at least the salad is decent.

I don't actually eat lunch at all. Once I get home I make myself something to eat but I just don't eat at school. I just don't get hungry. Also my schools lunches are not free, the selection kind of sucks, and even if it did not $3 for one slice of pizza and 2 tater tots is BS pricing. At least throw in a bottled water or something.
