Diebuster is great! Though I'd recommend watching Gunbuster first.

I loved Dear S and Gunbusters 2 when they first came out. The only bad things are that the anime Dear S ends before the real ending. To get that you have to read the manga. Peach Pit did Dear S before they did Rozen Maiden and Shugo Chara

In my opinion, to really understand Gunbusters 2 you have to have watched the original Gunbusters. There are a lot of things you will think are really strange if you don't know where they came from in Gunbusters

DearS was okay, but nothing special The manga was better. I never did get around to Gunbusters (the original or this one) so I may have to check it out.

DearS! Talk about a blast from my past. It was the series that introduced ecchi anime to me, so it has sentimental value to me, I wonder if it'll be as good as I remember seeing as I've watched more anime and ecchi series, in particular, since then?

DearS? Did not see that coming, though it did get a recent re-release on DVD (which was also a bit of a surprise). Glad to see the catalogue grow.

Read the Manga for DearS, that way you won't be disappointed at the end of the anime when its only half the story

Gunbuster / Diebuster 2 is amazing but it is from quite a few years back. It is the sequel to Anno's original Diebuster which set up a lot of the plotting style and themes that have been reiterated through the Evangelion > Gurren Lagan > Kill La Kill progression. Great in its own right, too.

Was hoping on Symphogear G

We still have one "?" box at present in the New Catalog Titles section.

With probably only around a week until the lineup page flips over to fall, that indicates they at least anticipate announcing whatever title that is soon.

This displeases me.
You can't have Diebuster without Gunbuster.

Diebuster, you say? I guess I won't need to open the DVD I picked up a couple months ago. I love Gunbuster and the Diebuster mechs are pretty fun to use in Super Robot Wars Z3: Tengoku-hen (ok, mostly Dix-neuf and whatever Nono's driving) so I'm looking forward to this series.

This is Crunchyroll, of course they can. And often do this sort of thing. (Granted, I wish this wasn't the case)
They have an awful lot of shows where the only have the later seasons, even if that can elave you scratching your head.

They had Symphogear GX before anything else. Then went back to original Symphogear (which was easy enough to marathon in about three days... I know I did) and still no word on Symphogear G.

They have Seitokai Yakuindomo * (a.k.a. season 2) but no original SYD or, indeed, the intermediate OAVs which actually provide backstory to one of the recurring gags. (And even the official CR subtitles call out to this)

Although not quite as closely linked, being adapted fomr the third entry of the origibnal VN series, Da Capo III is present, without the first two seasons.

They only seem to have the second season of Encouragement of Climb.

Ditto for Genshiken.

Please bear in mind that I'm only listing what I can see here in the UK, and only about halfway through the alphabet, so I cannot easily tell if there are more examples out there or if some shows have all seasons in NA but not outside.
Either way, though, it's not so much an indictment of Crunchyroll themselves. They license what they can. But sometimes not every part of a show is on offer at the same time. Or some parts may already be held by other companies who do not want to sublicense streaming to CR.

And it's not just anime. Drama-wise, they have the 2013 incarnation of Shomuni (under the title of"Power Office Girls 2013") but not the original three seasons from the late 1990s.
And, trust me, there's a lot in that first episode that makes a hell of a lot more sense if you've even seen part of the original series. (An anime club I was in back in 2001 showed it on VHS fansubs)

And, to a somewhat lesser extent, there are a lot of shows in CR's library that are very heavy on Japanese pop-culture references that quite simply aren't all covered by officially-available sources.
