I don't know, I'm more of a fan of Jeremy Bentham's take on ethics. Call me a heartless Utilitarianist of you want, I won't take any offense to it.

Also that pun was absolutely disgusting. lol ^^

Well, when it comes to ethics, I defer to Nietzsche. I say that, but I never really act on anything. Because I'm pigdisgusting :(

On the other hand, I think Bentham's way is pretty realistic.

I love Nietzsche's way of thinking! It's amazing.

But ya, I took the realistic approach.

Anyways, I have to go out to do some shopping. It was fun talking philosophy with you.

I think this is where people go wrong:

The graphic on facts is false. Facts are always true. That is the meaning of a fact. A statement may be true or false.

most of the shit people say is too predictable but that's because you will most likely choose your facts based on your assumptions just to prove you're right about something. in a way, a lot depends on your morality. some things come and go but most things stay a while before it becomes the norm.

I'll use a quasi-Socratic method to answer your question:

If I punch you in the face in front of a hundred people, is it my opinion that I did nothing of the sort or just a lie?

An opinion is just a belief being expressed. A belief can be anything from "I believe 1 + 1 = 2" to " "I believe I can fly". Remember to KNOW something is true you have to first consciously in your mind believe it to be true.

Neo nazi have opinions, harmful ones. It's important to question the origins of those opinions, and not just look at them as only having face value.

I think it can be quite true, every thing is an opinion. I like to think of life as a joke, everything as somewhat comedic. You can question everything, perpetually asking why, and never get an answer. I like that it provides mystery, making life worth living.

facts in that case are only "true" until proven otherwise. (or it is revised and what was once false is now considered fact again).

Sounds silly, but there's a lot of "facts" out there that were true, but now have been shown to be false. (and others that have been denounced as false, now coming back in various studies as being true).

Really, truth is what is is demonstrable and pragmatic in its explanation.

But sure. statements. Opinions are statements too.

Opinions are based on qualia, facts deal with mechanics and statistics.

Opinions and facts are both statements.

true facts are asserted all the time. Through science we sometimes reverse facts and what was true, then now is false. What was false, strangely enough, sometimes can also sometimes turn out to be true.

Truth, in fact, is nothing more than what is demonstrated to be true, and what is pragmatic in its approach to explain said truth.

If there would be a revision of what is posted above, I'd argue that opinions deal with qualia. Facts deal with mechanics and statistics.

Anyone who tries to convince you that there is no such thing as a proven fact is simply trying to hard to be difficult.
