You see it in stories, the hero has nothing to lose or has everything to lose. one of these scenarios the hero motivation to do what needs to be done. So I was wondering who would be more dangerous/desperate: someone with nothing to lose or someone with everything to lose?

Everything to lose. Someone with nothing to lose will accept death sooner.

Probably someone with everything to lose. The motivation seems to be greater.

Someone with nothing to lose is just going to be reckless, not really more driven.

I would like to say someone who has nothing to lose is more dangerous. Since most of the time they are out for revenge on someone who took everything away from them and they usually become more stronger/powerful to get said revenge.

While someone with everything they are usually more desperate. Since they will do anything to survive/win so they can return to their family, home, and etc.

but a person with nothing can also be desperate and someone with everything can be dangerous as well so in all realty no idea since it can go both ways lol.

Someone with nothing to lose is the most dangerous IMO, that kind of person will not hesitate on anything and doesn't really care what happens, which is dangerous, but it mostly depends on what they lost, "Family lost to monsters" etc, the person will have the drive to kill monsters, making them dangerous and desperate to kill if its a hero.

You also can't hold anything against them, such as "I will kill your family/friends/etc/lover" because they have nothing to lose, which makes them even more dangerous.

The person with everything to lose will probably try to stay alive. Thus limiting him/herself to certain actions.

The person with nothing to lose well......if his/her life being lost is no consequence to them. The danger the person poses is far far greater. They will do whatever it takes.

Someone with Nothing to lose there motivation is greater and they will try to stay alive to gain something.

Just my opinion putting myself in the two if i had everything to lose i probably wouldn't strive as hard as i would if i had nothing to lose.

The people that have nothing to lose.
People that have nothing are more willing to give everything. I understand that fighting to protect is admirable but I just feel that its fighting when you don't have to is truly heroic.

If the person has nothing to lose because they already lost everything then what you get is a kamikaze which might be more dangerous than say the attack of someone who has everything to lose who simply stop short of sacrificing themselves because of a need to confirm that nothing was lost.

I personally think it depends on their amount of resources.

If they have no resources, the person with everything to lose is more dangerous because they will scrounge up whatever they need to in order to accomplish their goals.

If they have a lot of resources, the person with nothing to lose is more dangerous because they'll be willing to do just about anything with them.

It actually really scares me sometimes to think about the kind of things I would do if I had nothing to lose - and I don't even have a lot of resources

I agree. When you have something you're fighting for, it makes you more motivated and powerful.

When you have nothing to lose, you're just YOLTING in with 0 motivation and just giving it your all without caring.

Someone with nothing to lose doesn't have anything to rely on other than themselves. Someone with everything to lose still has access to those resources. Determination isn't relevant: the person with everything to lose just has more to work with.
