I'm more amazed at our stupidity than our technological achievements.

Technology in the new millennium may seem scary to some, but there is still plenty of untapped potential for the good it can bring.

I will be amazed when they can upload my consciousness into a full scale simulation.

Until then: the world changes every day in ways I never imagined as a child. I find myself torn between adapting new technologies and shunning them. Very few actually amaze me, and most are things I was watching on sci-fi shows as a child.

(Kirk & Co. would like their communicators, scanners & data pads back.)

Constantly. When you look at the scale of humanity's existence as a whole on this planet, and then compare just the last century of advancements, it's mind-blowing. I think I'm amazed with the ideas theoretical areas of science are producing more than anything. We don't even have the means to create / test some of these things but they're astounding!

Technology just allows more abusive treatment of our planet and people living it. Most technological advances are made first for military needs and THEN civilian needs. If everyone lived the way style the europeans and americans do then we would be neck deep in s**t. Quite literally.

The fact that machines can be fused to the brain and actually function properly is really amazing

The stuff that has been created by 3D printers in the medical field has blown me away.

Amazed by things, like how a tiny micro SD card holds over 1000x the amount my first large, loud, MFM HDD did.
Concerned by things, like the widespread demise of brick-and-mortar businesses (Circuit City, Blockbuster, Tower Records, anywhere else that sold music or books, etc.) Not only did these places employ lots of people, but it's nice to have an excuse to leave the house sometimes...
And just plain irritated by some things. Like how TV speakers have become virtually unusable. And how game consoles are so "advanced" that they now download updates, and generally remind me more of the gaming PCs I gave up ages ago because consoles used to be simpler.
