Sometimes there are shows that you dont want to stop midway and Baby Steps is one of them

Today Sunday September 20 was the braodcast of the last episode of Baby Step 2 episode 25.
It ends the Kanto Jr Arc. Young Marou has qualified for the next tournament , All Japan Jr

But at the end of the show there is no annoucement for a Season 3.
However I really would love to see how our main character grows more in the world of tennis as he continue is the All Japan Jr Arc which is the turning point for Ei chan.

Having this show broadcasted by NHK at a very good viewing schedule meant a lot of Japanese kids watched it with their parents and hope that made a difference.

But for us adults from other countries who loved this show , can send messages to Studio Pierrot and voice our request and maybe that will also make a difference in this world of profit driven decision making.

So here is the link

given how most sequels are made, we wont know anything about a 3rd season until they release the Dvds and see how well they do in japan. Very very rarely does anything that happens outside of japan have anything to do with whether or not a show gets another season. With baby steps, id certainly love to see a continuation of the series, but if it does happen it'll take at least till 2017 for us to see it.

For now, id suggest looking for the manga.

Actually, since this is an NHK series, DVD/BD sales aren't nearly as important a factor as with other networks. The network is funded by public subsidies. It's also a daytime show aimed at kids, which aren't generally about DVD sales in the first place; the series being produced is largely a public service by NHK to give youngsters something more "wholesome" to watch.

That said, you are correct that our sentiments about the series aren't that important to NHK; their goal is providing programming for Japan specifically. Popularity in the U.S. wouldn't really influence their decision if the interest isn't there in Japan.

I do have friends whose kids who are into tennis and are japanese actually watched the show via NHK .

But The way they ended the series somewhat give you a clue of a closure, but hopefully NHK will get this title with another go for their future show so that that those kids who followed this show can continue to watch it.This is indeed an wholesome show .

I am already reading the manga and the manga in japanese past the All Japan Jr and really hope they do continue to adapt this show into an anime.

I'd like to see it continued as well, though now that I've read the manga I'm not as concerned about a continuation. Sometimes being animated really makes all the difference, but with Baby Steps I really get into the whole story via the manga and it just doesn't feel like the anime significantly adds to the experience(for me). My biggest problem, because I can't read Japanese, is that the translation rate of the manga has slowed to an absolute crawl. Currently stuck in the middle of the All-Japan tournament with no updates in sight. Guess I'll just have to add it to the ever growing list of manga in my "waiting for updates" folder...

Yeah, sadly that episode felt like a farewell in the end, one glimpse of Ei-chan in a big stadium. I hope NHK decides to give it another season.

Writing to Pierrot likely won't help unfortunately as they just animate it. You probably want to write to the NHK instead.

I'm sure both would love to hear that you enjoy the show. I'm not sure what criteria the NHK uses in ordering more seasons, ratings or what.

I would love for this show to continue too
. Sadly, due to how it ended, I would be surprised if there were another season.
Well, at least it did end well,...in a way.

I don't believe there is any reason to believe a season 3 is planned.
