I'm honestly curious what all of you think about romantic relationships between siblings in anime. I personally prefer to see two siblings get together. To me it's the purest form of love there is, at least as far as anime goes. Now there are some shows that really have no concern about pushing the limit such as Yosuga no Sora (which has become one of my favorites). I have two sisters but I don't think of them in that way at all so I'm not sure where this preference stems from. I just want to hear some other opinions on sibling relationships in anime.

What do you think?

I think it's cute when there's a little sister who doesn't want the MC be with other girls

But when there like an actual serious love triangle going on, e.g. Oreimo, there's a line that has been crossed.

Not a fan of incest. Himouto! Umaru-chan does a good job of displaying several normal sibling relationships.

I have the same opinion about siblings in anime as the OP.
For instance, I find the bond between Ayumi and his brother (in Charlotte) really sweet and pure. I like to see siblings getting together in that way.
But I also like to see different perspectives about what is right and what is not between siblings. Yosuga no Sora is one of my favorites as it is Oreimo because they don't follow the common path, they try to explore how far a bond of siblings can go which has a bitter taste for the audience (me).

Considering that they never actually cross the line and its only animation who cares. Not like you should be affected by it.

Incest isn't in my list of interests but i know some people like it, but It's just a turn-off or me, i like sibling-caring relationships for example -
Umaru and her brother Doma, its nice and comforting

I think anime has desensitized me to the issue.

No. As a dude with 7 younger siblings and a father with 4 children - no. Sibling romance is creepy & I avoid anime with romantic overtones between siblings.

You're an only child, aren't you? Or, you don't have any opposite-sex siblings.

I also have a kid but it goes on so much in anime kinda just figure its part of story having a sister cock block or brother complex: for example: 2 summer series shows Danchigai-no parents around 1 brother 4 sisters the story constantly has plot of kissing or thoughts of sexuality in family. Castle Town Dandelion the royal family has sisters getting jealous of brother having a girlfriend and its sorta implied sister would be better match but she doesnt act on it I just figure guess its normal goes on alot in anime. before people get bent I am not saying all anime but more than a few these are new shows on simulcast and btw I still watch them.

I get the pure love aspect of some of it, I mean no one knows you or loves you like your siblings. I personally don't like when it gets pushed to sexual feelings. I just find that kinda creepy, but I mean its anime so if that's your thing, that's your thing.

I'm an only child. I cannot speak from experience. I have a friend who's parents are 2nd cousins. They are all fine and he is an intelligent married teacher. I don't want to preach for or against such topics. I have a tough time dealing with incest in anime. But, it is something that happens in real life and used to be a bigger part of history as well. It is not my place to judge, but I will also admit it makes me uncomfortable. I'm sorry I can contribute more than that or give a definitive answer.

I haven't watched Castle Town, but in Danchigai I can see it, yes. Why?
