I haven't watched Castle Town, but in Danchigai I can see it, yes. Why?

Its interesting because they keep it close to crossing the line but its more an interpretation I guess?

I believe that's the root of it all. It'd all based on interpretation.

I will say that I believe people should be able to love whom they want as long as it doesn't lead to the suffering, abuse or revoking of privileges of someone else.

"Oreimo" IS one of my favorites I don't think the line was
crossed that show helped me with my relationships with my little brothers because i could relate how they look up to me there whole childhood
Then to see me as working person who plays games and watches anime in there spare time so since then i took what i learned and started boxing at the gym because that's what my little brother does i know his goal was to be able to beat me however when he was It did not mater i wasn't the supper athlete i use to be who was faster stronger and known as the best fighter in the neighborhood are relationship grew because i worked hard at something and respect he was better then me but just at one thing so by doing that i motivated him to not do drugs and get good grade as someone who finished school and has a good job that makes me happy but he also motivated me to get into shape.

But a side note i wish had a little sister that could bring her girlfriends around growing up

And A manga that takes it to far its not a little sister but
silver Nina
that bushed the limit and irregular magic high school

Not a huge fan of it, but it can be interesting when done right in anime.

I would prefer to watch a romance not involving siblings.

This. Much like the whole loli thing it used to bother me when I first started watching anime but at this point I've seen it so much that I just don't care.

That said I do find it refreshing when an anime has a more realistic brother/sister relationship that isn't full of sexual undertones. SNAFU is a good example of one.

P.S. Since you mention Oreimo I just have to point out that the thing that was so criminal about that anime was that the MC dropped a legitimately awesome girl for his bratty sister. I wouldn't have minded that relationship if it had been the best pairing but he would have been a better match with pretty much any other girl in that show. Especially the one he was actually going out with.

I have 4 half-sisters and I still have no problems with incest.

It always makes for an interesting story.

Whether it's taken seriously like with Oreimo, Yosuga no Sora, Aki-Sora, etc... Those address any social issues that may arise from blood siblings having a relationship together.

Then you have others like Da Capo, OniAi, Sword Art Online, where the two characters in question are legally able to get married, and the question comes to, "How do they feel about each other, and how do other people view them." because as far as the law goes, their relationship is perfectly fine.

---

Best of all though, the topic pisses people off, so I love it.

I really enjoy step-sibling romance, not so much when they're biologically related.

This 100%!

I wouldn't have minded going full incest route if Kirino was actually likeable and didn't abuse her brother 90% of the time she was on screen. The first season was amazing. It was just a platonic relationship between siblings trying to get along better. Then season 2 happened. Kyousuke dumped the best girl in the entire show and declared his sudden love for the immature brat who's been a constant pain since the series began.

I just finished watching Yosuga no Sora and I can say with no regret that Sora is exactly what Kirino SHOULD HAVE BEEN. She gets jealous seeing other girls around Haruka but she doesn't try to attack him over every small detail in their lives. When it was her turn to get together with her brother, she felt no shame and didn't care if people talked about them. Their relationship actually felt genuine since they honestly cared about each other for a long time but were too afraid of how society would react. Sora never lashed out at anyone, except Nao but that was because of a grudge from the past.

Anyways, Sora was more open about her affection towards her brother, while Kirino kept her feelings bottled up until the very last second and spent most of the series being a burden on her brother. Kyousuke must be crazy to dump best girl for this monster.

After Oreimo, I haven't tried any other ones. not really wanting to try it either, I think incest is creepy?? Oreimo was trainwreck. Mainly because the imouto was a b-i-t-c-h.
