Swedish-American here! My family eats rice a lot (like 4-5 times a week) though that's probably because it's cheap, easy and our rice cooker plays a tune when it's finished (fancy, I know)

What?? I'm so jealous. Mine just clicks. We're thinking about saving up and buying a fancy Zojirushi brand rice cooker.

Is pasta a rice?

Probably not.
I like rice, I just prefer pasta to all other forms of carb.

I grew up eating rice everyday. after I was advised to cut down on rice, I tried not eating rice and substituted it with bread and sometimes pasta. after a month of not eating rice, I started to feel weaker every day while craving for rice. then I caved in to the temptation and ate pork chop with white rice. I felt so rejuvenated as if it was my first time eating after a starvation torture. and ever since then, I'm back on the daily rice wagon.

I eat rice quite a bit, but I was told to stop because rice has Arsenic in it.

LOL of course it isn't. If you do want pasta that looks similar to rice then try some orzo.

I don't eat as much rice as I used to in the Caribbean now. Personally I like my grains less processed so I don't have that much pasta or even noodles. Although I do have some bread, my body does best without wheat flour. My favourite rice is Italian short grain rice and brown basmati rice. Variety is essential so too much of any one thing isn't good for me.

I eat tons of rice and bread as being from the Middle-East and South India region. Basmati rice, to be specific.

Yes. My husband is Japanese and so I make rice with everything. Even breakfast, scrambled eggs and white rice.
