That's crazy and I hope other companies think smart and sell it for cheap so they end up making no money.

Not sure if the patent on the drug gets protected longer when it's an Orphan Drug protected drug.

I wonder just how many pills Martin Shkreli will want to scarf down if he were to suddenly be infected by HIV.

Also, here is my position on libertarianism.

Never mind it IS a HIV medication.

Also just saw the Reddit post with half the posters wishing death upon him or some form of life changing beating. It's quite scary how people can get if you do something they hate.

Now that I've researched more it seems this drug probably does need an overhaul of some kind as resistance to the drug has been mounting.

Edited.

Again you haven't proven anything no law has been broken at this time so how did he violate any agency or law? Obamacare in it's current form was originally a Heritage foundation idea here is the history on this. http://healthcarereform.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=004182 1993 was the original date of this idea not 2008.

As for the orphan drug act true it was actually pushed for because we had a problem at the time and Reagan was willing to sign off on it which is fine but the fine tuning that happened under Bush 2 made it easier to actually get approval as a orphan drug. So again what law or agencies have been abused violate or laws have been broken?

Regan Reagan sold arms to our enemies for hostages cut and ran when we were attacked and blew up the defects by three times its original amount 700 billion before 2.1 trillion after all that stealth spending on defense.yup real republican there they have all followed in his footsteps.

So what how did he violate a rule or law or agency again?

Yes the guy is an asshat and should be taken out behind the barn and beaten. This is why we need a single payer healthcare system oh wait we have one Medicare we could easily expand that to everyone that is a citizen and actually get control over this dirt bags. The other option is of course jacking their personal tax rates back up to where they were before Reagan and actually making them pay their fair share. Both work this idea of allow business to do as they please doesn't and never will. Which is the librarian mantra just let everyone do as they wish the hell with the society.

Normally, I don't wish any harm upon others. But in his case, I hope he dies quickly - so as few lives as possible will be consumed by his greed.

Basically then, this is what happens when we allow the medical industry to write it's own laws.

So his logic is that a price increase is warranted in order to make the drug's manufacture and sale a profitable venture. Alright. But then, really think about what that means. The drug's development occurred more than 50 years ago at this point, so the overhead he's faced with doesn't include research and development. It comes principally in the form of his acquisition costs for US marketing rights and manufacturing/distribution of product. He doesn't have to market the drug, it's already acknowledged as an effective and critically important treatment option for toxoplasmosis. All he has to make up is what he paid for the rights.

So he's either a soulless bullshit artist or an incompetent. And considering he's taking full advantage of US law and limitations to the government's ability to negotiate against him I'm not inclined to think he's incompetent.

Obamacare did not originate with the Heritage Foundation - that is nothing but a liberal myth: http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/opinion/forum/story/2012-02-03/health-individual-mandate-reform-heritage/52951140/1

It was people working under Reagan without his knowledge - despite all the many Democratic witch hunts, no "proof" was ever found. Now the real scandals of Benghazi and Clinton emails? THAT is a different story.

Although they do need to recoup research costs, I'm not seeing any valid reason for this price hike; time will tell as more stories come out but government overregulation (NOTE: I am not for ZERO, but limited regulation) is not the answer. The ACA death panels, now those are worth worrying about.

There's always profit off of someone else's problem... this is why instead of developing treatment, we need to start developing cures.

Here is in it's entirety the Heritage plan for health care that they released in 1992 sadly the option you are looking for is the third one the consumer choice approach.http://www.salon.com/2013/10/29/nixon_proposed_todays_affordable_care_act_partner/

Really so the arms for hostages by he way the real question you should ask is which hostages did the Iran's have at that time none but they did have them during the election which as new reports show he attempted to interfer with http://www.nytimes.com/1991/04/15/world/new-reports-say-1980-reagan-campaign-tried-to-delay-hostage-release.html Iran-Contra https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran–Contra_affair

What death panels there are no death panels find one please. No really there aren't any there used to be under the old insurance system when the cost they had to pay go to high they would kick you off when you needed it the most.

Cost aren't going up nearly as fast as you claim Doug in fact those states that didn't take the money are seeing the highest increases. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/21/obamacare-premiums-2015_n_5691773.html no really cost are slowing http://money.cnn.com/2013/06/18/pf/healthcare-costs/index.html

Nice article written by Stuart Butler here is his web page on the Heritage web site http://www.heritage.org/about/staff/b/stuart-butler oh he authored the original paper as well oh this doesn't look good. Darn pesky internet keeps history around all to well.

I didn't find any reasons as to why he increased the price, that link talks more about his life and childhood than anything else. He has yellow teeth and a creepy smile, I hate him already

All I got from that article is that he was fired before because of "poor management skills" and wants to be a millionaire. It seems that playing with people's health and robing them the right to have affordable medicine is the way to become a millionaire. What's going on America??

You forgot to mention that he never graduated from high school.

God this guy is literally the biggest A-hole I've ever seen.

The Heritage Foundation "plan" was in response to Clinton's health care initiative - a less harmful approach; it had nothing to do with the ACA. What's more, not one Republican voted for the ACA - it is 100% Democrat Liberals who own it.

I was talking about the spike in medicine mentioned in the original post, but since you brought it up (the price spikes will continue to trickle (flood?) in): http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/obamacare-premium-hikes-for-2016-ignore-them-at-your-own-risk/article/2566556

Of course the real cost of the ACA is hidden by the government subsidies. The death panels will come into effect as a cost cutting measure - got to force those elderly nuns to get their contraceptives! Well, the high costs are not affecting me yet since I am not paying for them; would be nice to have affordable health care for when I do need it.
