I have ZERO trust in fuckin' studio 8bit after what they done with the Fruit of Grisaia, one of my favorite VNs of all time.

They gave zero respect to any of the characters in Grisaia, giving only 2 of the girls only one episode each. And the animation and CGI can at times look bad. They only redeem themselves to OK with the Grisaia sequels, but I have zero trust in them.

How long is the Rewrite VN? If it's 50 hours like the Fruit of Grisaia, consider the VN adaption fucked. If it's like 30 hours like the Grisaia sequels, then maybe it can be decent.

But again, I have ZERO trust in studio 8bit. I consider them worst than DEEN.

Rewrite VN is longer then Grisaia, not by a lot though. took me about average 60-70hours to finish it, and I plan on replaying the VN again.

Wait ... what? 8-bit? Well, fuck that shit, I'm gonna be depressed now.

Also: @Loomy: GPFR dude, GPFR.

Will comment more on this later, I don't have the time right now.

There could have been much worse options than 8-bit, but ya, we knew this was gonna happen before it happened! The best we can hope for is that they adapt the common route and kotori's route.

They literally couldn't fit this into 13 or 25 episodes (true ends included) I mean, how the fuck could they do that? They' have to fit the common route in like one episode, lol!!! I'd almost be intrigued to see an attempt to fit the whole thing in 25 episodes. It would be like one big Chihaya route!!!!!

EDIT: Alright, I looked at the preview and there's a little bit of everyone's route in there. God help us! Lmao.

EDIT 2: Tanaka Romeo is writing the script that's at least a plus, but the episode count will be the deciding factor. 3-cours at the very least I think would probably be fine, but preferably 4-cour. If it's 2-cour or lower, then I don't think there's any hope, even if Tanaka is writing.

Considering that Tanaka is involved with the production and doing the script I think it's very likely that the Anime adaptation will only cover the routes written by him. So no Chihaya, Lucia or Shizuru, which I would be able to live with. Though you'd definitely lose some perspective and context if all you did was Akane, Kotori and possibly Moon/Terra, it wouldn't really work. At this point I just hope they do Kotori's route, see how it goes and continue the adaptation if it's succesful enough. I think we talked about how I'd like Rewrite to be adapted before, so I don't really feel like elaborating right now. It does give me hope that Tanaka is involved with the production since Rewrite is his baby and he'll want to make sure that the adaptation gets his points across.

The PV just consists of parts from both VN-OPs cut together.

Number 1
Number 2

So it doesn't say much.

Edit: Lol, great minds and so on

I was trying to remember, and maybe you know: has Tanaka ever written an anime before? I don't think he was involved in the anime version of Humanity Has Declined.

Im hoping they keep the OST the same, OST was brilliant in the VN.

Canoe - Tada Aoi & Watari no Toki - Tada Aoi were brilliant.

Also Yanaginagi :3

Not that I know of. He also wrote Aura, which was adapted into a movie, but he is only credited as "Original Creator" there, which is the only Anime related credit he has ever gotten, at least according to the sites that I frequent. So it's definitely interesting to see that he seems to be involved here. May have been one of his conditions to even approve of a Rewrite adaptation. One of the major problems of adaptations is that you often have a different person with a (sometimes very) different vision at the helm and that the message of the work can easily get diluted as a result. Having the original author on board certainly helps in that regard.

It wouldn't surprise me if, as you say, he specifically wanted to be involved in this adaptation. Rewrite has a *lot* of moving parts, and it would be tough to trust another person to know which parts are the important one.

The one negative is that Lucia is unlikely to get much screen time in the anime, since she's not that related to the main plot. Unless they get 52 episodes or something, I don't see them going too deep into her background.

In a perfect world, Rewrite will get a double split cour of 24 episodes each. But ...it's 8-bit so we'll have to see :/

I also have mixed thoughts on the staff.

Psh. I like 8-bit. I liked the first season of IS and I loved Absolute duo. Don't know why people have their panties all in a twist over 8-bit

Only thing I have seen by them that was "meh" to me was Aquarion Evol. i still liked it, but the mecha was just meh. the 2-d animation was fine.

I need to watch Grisaia soon. I have actually heard it was pretty decent, people just didn't like some of the paths they went with.

- Grisaia adaptation and decent cant be used in the same sentence. Grisaia no Kajitsu adaptation was so bad, that I felt sick and angry after it ended. I mean who adapts a 50 hour VN into a 12 episode (1-cour) anime? 2nd season (Grisaia no Rakuen) was decent, though that VN was short and not as long as Grisaia no Kajitsu.

Absolute duo had terrible, and i mean terrible animation quality, was blurry and bad.

IS - bad anime is bad 1/10.

But people have their own tastes... just don't get angry when you watching the mess of Grisaia that 8-bit produced

I guess I must have shitty eye sight or something then, because I thought AD and IS animation was fine. Was it anything amazing? no, but not the blight of the apocalypse either. I don't think any studio is just complete trash. I mean even studios like Studio DEEN and Pierrot+ have put out some good shows.
