Hey, fairly new to crunchyroll here. My all time favorite anime from when I was in HS was Cowboy Bebop, loved the characters (except maybe Ed hah) and the plot/setting...lately I have enjoyed School Live, Gate, Rokka, Non Non Biyori and a few others and I'd like to find another good sci-fi. Any recommendations?

Planetes is great if you are looking for real science in your science fiction. Kinda hard to find, but well worth it.

On CR:
--------
Garganita of the Verderous Planet
Star Driver

Elsewhere:
--------------
Eureka Seven
Steins; Gate
Vandread
Ghost in the Shell
Trigun (Steam-punk)
Serial Experiments Lain (Cyber-punk)
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (mix of sci-fi and fantasy)

Also, if you like Cowboy Bebop, try Samurai Champloo: Made by the same folks, although it's samurai instead of space.

I liked the majestic princes the stories ok the animation reminds me of anime from the 90's but the show has some of the best mobile suit battles I've seen in an anime.

I'll second Planetes. The anime is hard to find, but the manga's being re-released, so hopefully the anime might be, also. If you read manga, check out Vinland Saga (by the same person, Makoto Yukimura). It's not sci-fi, but a Viking epic. Really good.

Everyone's already listed most of the ones I would've, but one that hasn't been mentioned: Ergo Proxy. It's Dystopian rather than spaceship sci-fi.

For a fantasy recommendation (since you said you liked Rokka): Yona of the Dawn.

The Irregular at Magic High School. I would put it in the science fiction category, since their "magic" was generated by scientific means (i.e. the CAD's, Casting Assistant Device). Gunbuster 2 is science fiction. If you liked the premise of GATE (a gate into a fantasy world), then you might like Outbreak Company, where the hero goes through a gate to bring otaku culture to the other world. Plastic Memories is good, but is sort of bittersweet. RWBY is sort of science fiction, since the characters use "scientific things" in the other world of Grimm. Space Brothers is definitely science fiction

Shin Sekai Yori: far future speculative fiction about humans with telekinetic powers

Gurren Lagann: Alternate world mecha shonen with seriously badass characters

Level E: aliens come to earth, living among humans, and one particularly obnoxious alien prince

Parasyte: alien beings invade earth by taking over human hosts, mc has to learn to co-exist with a parasite that botched taking him over

Space Dandy: A dandy guy's space adventures, very episodic, very funny, occasionally very interesting concepts explored

Gintama: alternate history Meiji era where aliens have invaded and basically taken over Japan (ongoing, long running series)

K project: alternate history where Japan has become the major technological and economic power due to possession of a strange artifact that bestows powers to certain chosen individuals called "kings" (second season coming this fall, so I recommend trying this right away)

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suszumiya: girl who desperately longs to meet aliens, espers and time travelers doesn't realize she is surrounded by them
