so i dont really watch too much anime, but there is a certain style that i just love to watch. i loved movies by miyazaki/studio ghibli like howls moving castle, spirited away, grave of the fireflies, the wind rises etc... so when a friend recommended mushishi. i binged watched it and has become my favorite anime series. there are many anime that i dont watch cause it all looks like too much action, too flashy, the art style like big eyes and whatnot lol. i know im been picky but to each his own right

so can you guys recommend anime series or even movies (not by miyazaki cause ive seen them), that are of that style: easy on the eyes, beautifully animated, nice/simple story telling, it has fantasy but still very human like i guess

oh and MUCH preferably dubbed

Baby Steps. It's a realistic series about a character learning how to play tennis, while making a plot of him wanting to become a pro tennis player. The series also dives deep into the mechanics of tennis and it's techniques, which makes for some great strategic tactics. Unfortunately, there is no dub, but you can find both seasons here on Crunchyroll! - http://www.crunchyroll.com/baby-steps

Yep but it's only sub.

Mononoke

Natsume Yuujinchou

Summer Wars, not really like Mushishi but based off movie selections you might like it.

xxxHolic, bit of the same type of spiritual dealing with but more comedy than serious.

Hello fellow Mushishi fan! Make sure you watch season 2 and all the OVAs if you haven't already. I'll second Mononoke in terms of story, though it isn't as easy on the eyes as Mushishi. I heard only good things about Natsume Yuujinchou too. I would also recommend Mamoru Hisoda's movies for a sorta Ghibli feel.

Stuff on CR.
Usagi Drop (slice of life)
Kimi ni Todoke (romance)
PES: Peace Eco Smile (sci-fi)
Humanity Has Declined (sci-fi)
Kids on the Slope (slice of life / music)
Hozuki no Reitetsu (eh..uh...)
Tsuritama (fishing)
Natsume Yujin (sci-fi spirits)
Natsuyuki Rendezvous (sci-fi spirits?...demons?..)
Ano Natsu de Matteru (sci-fi / romance)
Non Non Biyori (slice of life)
Nisekoi (romance)
Your lie in April (romance / music)
Gourmet Girl Graffiti (slice of life / food)

Not all of these are exactly what you were looking for, but they have really beautiful art imo (or really funny, nisekoi's expressions are hilarious) and stories sort of similar to miyazaki.

I can guarantee you will like Akagami No Shirayukihime if you check it out somewhere else. As soon as I watched it I immediately thought of miyazaki's works.

I'll second Shwuishi's recommendation for Mamoru Hosoda's movies. My favorite is Wolf Children, but I also liked Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

Several others I'd recommend were already mentioned, so...

On Crunchyroll:

5 Centimeters Per Second
The Place Promised in Our Early Days
A Lull in the Sea (Nagi no Asukara)

Not on Crunchyroll:

Hotarubi no Mori e
Oblivion Island
Sky Crawlers
Croisee in a Foreign Labyrinth
Origin: Spirits of the Past
Gunslinger Girl
Haibane Renmei
Last Exile
Shangri-La
Fractale

I don't know that all these necessarily fit the criteria/would be to your taste, but they're the ones that came to mind.

Kino's Journey has a similar feeling as Mushishi. It's a bit of an older anime though. I have it on DVD, it's excellent.
