When you start letting people make a bitch out of you is when you give up things you enjoy.

I get scornful looks at work when I tell people I enjoy anime, but I shrug it off. As long as I enjoy it then I'll keep watching it. Heck, I'm starting up a collection now that I hope to someday pass on to my kids if I ever have any.

There is so such thing. I feel your themes change but I don't think i'll every be completely done. My nieces and nephew love anime. It's a household necessity.

If people watching cartoons at any age is ok, then anime is too.

if you're above 150, you're probably too old.

I don't think there is an age limit, just watch it as long as you want

Never.

My 58-year old dad enjoys some anime films like the Madoka Magica film trilogy. In fact, he hung up some posters of the Madoka films that were given out at the screenings at his workplace.

My Dad just finished watching AOT and SAO last weekend. Said he is
watching The Devil is a part-timer now. He is also 58, don't think there
is an age limit. Only limits there are is the limits you place on yourself.
Entertainment comes in many forms.

I think that like video games, a lot of people of my (33) generation and older view it as something for children. Bear in mind you had to really work to find anime that wasn't merely a gateway drug into an extensive toy franchise, or any anime at all really until I was in my 20's. It wasn't as ubiquitous as it is now.
The video games comparison continues (metaphor duly tortured) as similarly anime looks harmless to those who don't see more than a cartoon but can tackle some very adult themes (I work with a 45 year old woman who let her 10 year old daughter have GTA V as a present, saying "don't know why they put 18 on the box of a TOY", but I bet she wouldn't buy her a copy of scarface). It's the "but it's not realistic" argument- how can it be emotionally affecting when it's not even real people, think those who've never given it the time of day. These people and their perception are the only reason a person would be made to feel too old, and these people are.... well, wrong, basically.
