So I picked up Persona 4 golden on the vita a while ago, and it was brought to my attention that there's a Persona 4 anime as well watched a few episodes and it seems pretty similar to the games storyline. So is it actually worth watching even after playing through the game? P.S. haven't beaten the game yet so no spoilers please.

Probably. The fight scenes from the boss battles are well done, but the whole thing is rushed, especially the light relief.

If you want to watch it for humor you have to watch it dub. The dub had some pretty great moments.

Anyways the anime was overall decent. So it's great to watch it whether you've played any Persona game or not.

If you have played the game to completion, and if it is the Vita (Golden) version, then yes, you can watch both anime and get a quick review of the storyline.

....

If you play Devil Survivor 2, on the other hand, do not watch that anime, as it will most likely piss you off.

I would say yes. I was in the same boat as you about a year ago. Only difference is I finished the game after probably 90 HOURS ... I would watch the Persona 4 anime first, then watch Persona 4 The Golden Animation because that one cuts out a large portion of the story, but still really enjoyable!

It's pretty funny seeing the events when the MC is actually voiced.

Especially the king-game event and for P4Golden anime the whole thing was played out with the MC having max stats and just being a complete ultra bad-ass. So yeah, there is definitely some value in watching the anime versions.

The anime is a fun enough watch. Really like how they depicted Narukami in it; better than his canon personality in my opinion.

I was actually introduced to the Persona series thanks to the first anime, so I am inclined to recommand it.

Seriously, it's for fun to watch the anime version of the game.

Since I only have access to Persona 4 Golden animation here in Crunchyroll, and if you do playthrough the game, Persona 4 Golden, I still watched the animation for fun. Although the Golden Animation is more focused on Marie and I'm assuming that the Persona 4 Animation is basically the same storyline / story flow based on Persona 4 only... This is based on what I saw from youtubes and etc...

The P4 anime came out before P4 Golden, so you get a 2 cour of P4 and then essentially a new game+ version with the golden animation being a 1 cour of the bonus material introduced in P4G.

You can probably get by without playing the game, and watching the Persona 4 anime. I'd still recommend playing it, though. As for the Persona 4 Golden anime, I don't think anyone would recommend watching it without having played the game.

You can, but nothing really beats the experience as playing the game.
