I usually enjoy mostly any of it. Though it's sad when I have to hold back a laugh sometimes cause some other people will think horribly of me.

I guess I'm the one guy that kinda has a bit of an issue with some forms of it, huh?

I mean, I can handle dark humor, it just depends on what it is. Everyone kinda see stuff differently and everyone gets offended at something, it's just the degree of the response given once offended.

you can either calmly refuse to acknowledge the offensive statement or completely freak the fuck out as if you've never expected people go that far before. Those who freak, well..yeah.

I mean, like, if it's someone making fun of like...homosexual culture, I'm gonna laugh because I'm not gay (y'know, because it's a joke, not because I wanna laugh at gay people) but then if someone comes around and makes a joke about getting lynched, then I'm gonna be slightly terrified (key word, slightly) simply because I'm a black guy in the South and I'm scared someone's gears are gonna start spinning like "hm...so that's how ya do it".

As long as the humor doesn't involve rape, I can laugh.

Dark humor can be hilarious

Mhmmm.. Fuck dead babies, but don't you dare do that to women...

I didn't even think about things like miscarriages and dead babies. Thats not funny either

Then obs, dark humor is not for you.

Anything can be funny if it's framed correctly. Smart writing and good delivery go a long way.
Take Bill Burr's bit about reasons why hitting women is okay, for example.
Or pretty much any set from Jim Jefferies or Anthony Jeselnik.
Being offensive for the hell of it is rarely funny, but with clever punchlines and jokes grounded in truth or reason, it's easier to laugh at the dark and crazy things humanity does. Like, child molestation isn't funny on its own, but when you frame it around Michael Jackson being a nutcase, or take the shock/surprise and make it absurd, it can soften the blow and allow people to laugh.

I love dark humor, pretty much about any topic, as long as I can recognize that it's meant as humor.

However, I hate those people who, even knowing it's a joke, will go apeshit on ya about dark humor. And having spent time at Tumblr, I see a lot of that. XD

Around what episode ? Because shit been hitting the fan lately in this series.

Maybe the 2nd or 3rd episode, so many people the anime just turns really shitty and that I shouldn't waste my time on it. Usually I love testing it out for myself, but I don't think I've had one person tell me it was good in the end lol

Charlotte is my Anime of the year so far loved the ending.

George Carlin (R.I.P.) actually said some things about this with rape jokes.

^This guy pretty much nailed it.

I think South Park has proven you can be very successful using dark comedy. If you go back and watch the first couple seasons, there's a bit of a cringe factor to how desperately they were trying to be gross and controversial. Then little by little the budget got bigger, the writing got better.

Are there any dark comedies people want to recommend? Two Seth Rogen movies come to mind for me. One is 'Observe and Report'. People didn't really like (hated) this movie but I enjoyed the dark humor. It made me uncomfortable in a good way. 'The End' was great also and had an all star cast . Another recent movie that comes to mind is 'Nightcrawler'. Wow, this movie was terrific. I really like the choices Jake Gyllenhaal is making.
