Yes, I've made absolute art just slashing a pumpkin with a sword in just a way so it had the Japanese writing "凛として咲く花の如く"
It's hard, but is a work of art in my eyes.

Yes, and we bake the seeds as well.

However, I do not make pumpkin pie. Because I don't like it.

When I was in elementary school, I did it nearly every year. Sometimes we carve pumpkins, sometimes we just get to pick one to bring home. Not sure if you can actually eat it or if they are just for decoration.

Weirdly enough even though I love Halloween, I never carved a pumpkin until last year. Can't wait to carve a few again this year, they make Halloween so much more ......Halloweeny!

Yup carved one each year for over 15 years now. Will probably get one for this year sometime in the next couple weeks and roast the seeds to snack on

I don't like the seeds but I like the pie. I guess I will have to give the seeds to someone if I carve one again as an adult.

I haven't carved one in a long time though. The last thing I did was make stuffed peppers for a Halloween party and I invited everyone to carve faces into their peppers.

I try to carve at least one pumpkin every year. I love pumpkins, and Halloween.

Never, we grew up with a variety of pumpkins that have thick firm flesh. It would be difficult to carve those up plus we didn't celebrate halloween.

I can only make simple jack-o'-lanterns that look like they would prefer death to their current situation. I'm not the best at it...

even as an adult i'll still carve one if i get the time to. There's something just uniquely fun about it. I usually only do a simple jack-o-lantern type face but its a neat little calling card for trick or treaters to know that 'this is a house that's got candy'. It was one of my favorite holidays as a kid so i try to keep the magic alive

Yes, I have!

In fact, each year [back when I lived in the Northeast U.S.], I took part in underwater pumpkin carving contests sponsored by local dive shops.

Note: the pumpkin "guts" are always removed before entering the water to avoid littering the lake and mucking up the visibility.
