Yes it's fun to carve a large one. Small ones are kinda hard to. Plus you get to practice stabbing, gutting, then baking, and eating it (the seeds). Pumkin knifes are fun better than normal utensil knives, since they are thicker and won't bend. I've some neat ones before where instead or cutting all the way through the rinds, you carveout the inside/outside to thin. If you do it lay newspaper around for fast clean ups since the inside gets is pretty slimmy.

Yes, when I was young. Probably one of the hardest things I've ever done.

how do you make the first hole

I use a keyhole saw.

Sometimes I'll use a dremel tool for detail work.

Sure, if you can call stabbing it repeatedly with a big knife.

I wonder why people call me crazy. Meh, we will never know!

I used to do it all the time when I was younger. Not so much now though. Usually I just chill with my younger siblings while they carve the pumpkin. Man, I miss being a kid.

Why not carve a pumpkin this year? In my high school they had a pumpkin carving contest and what the art students did with some of the pumpkins was just mind blowing. You could make something really cool!

I carved one back when I was in grade school. I haven't carved one since. It was quite a tough task to do.

I'm in university right now and I haven't got much time to do anything. Perhaps my dorm residence might have a pumpkin carving contest though.

The cool thing to do these days is a scene on pumpkin down load stencil and follow the lines
