Hey Guys

Recently some dubbed anime has been showing on SBS 2 (a channel here in Australia) and my mother has become interested. She used to love watching the last Airbender with my little cousin and i have put here onto Korra but she wants anime similar to the ones she's seen on the TV. However she doesn't like the weirdness in some of them i.e. Space Dandy and Assassination Classroom. So anyone got some good idea's, I want to watch anime that I like with her but i don't know how well stuff like Stein Gate and Death Note will go over maybe some Romance or comedy stuff?
Thanks Heaps

My mother and I kind of got into a habit of her coming around for tea and watching anime. These are some of the ones she likes

Usagi Drop
Moribito, guardian of the spirit
Chihayafuru
Hikaru no Go
Fractale
Secret of Cerulean Sand
Heroic legend of Arslan
Yona of the Dawn
Hanasaku Iroha

Depends what else she likes, my mother really like Rurouni Kenshin but she's in general a fan of historical fiction.

I showed Usagi Drop to my mother, and she loved it.

My Love Story is a great romance, with no objectionable content at all.

Barakuman and Hanasaku Iroha are great slice-of-life shows that give a sense of Japanese culture, but are still relatable and fun.

Aishiteruze Baby is a good show about family and growing up, with a bit of romance thrown in.

Spice and Wolf is an interesting dialogue-heavy romance/fantasy show with a bit of action; great witty banter here.

Gargantia of the Verderous Planet might be good if she likes science fiction; thoughtful with a bit of romance.

Amagi Brilliant Park, The Devil is a Part-Tmer, and Ookami-san & Her Seven Companions all are hilarious, though all have modest amounts of fan-service.

Fullmetal Alchemist (Both the original series and Brotherhood)
Death Note
Cowboy Bebop
Planetes
Honey and Clover

Nana

Usagi Drop
Spice and Wolf is great but... It kinda has a nude scene with a furry wolf girl which can give off the wrong vibe.

Try Steamboy, Jyu-Oh-Sei (I have an friend who is a grown woman and she loves this shoujo manga series), Metropolis, Serial Experiments Lain (if she likes a sci-fi anime with a complex story plus the story is very mature) or Castle in the Sky.
