Slice of life manga "Amanchu!" is getting a TV anime adaptation. The studio will be J.C. Staff.
Scheduled for Summer 2016.

Plot Summary

Hikari Kohinata is a cheerful 15-year-old girl who lives near the ocean and she spends much of her time diving as a result. On her first day of high school, she meets a teacher who also likes scuba diving. There's also a 16-year-old classmate, Futaba, who gets dragged along in Hikari's maelstrom as soon as they meet at school. Most of the manga so far details the relationship between the two girls, which quickly seems to move into romantic two girl friendship-territory.

Even without telling my wife anything, in the first ten seconds of the video, she asked if it was from Aria, I said same author and director. Now she is excited as well.

The Junichi Sato and Kozue Amano dream team are back at it again!!!

So very hyped for this. Could it be the second coming of Aria? I mean, with those two, it's almost guaranteed to be good.

And it looks like there are cats in it yet again. I haven't watched everything of Junichi Sato, but what I have always seems to feature cats. I think he likes to use cats to draw out thoughts or feelings from the characters with an almost "distant" or "impartial" view. He does it in Aria with Cait Sith. He also does it in Sketchbook with the neighborhood cats that have their own little society. And i'm currently watching Tamayura and he does a similar thing with Momoneko. Maybe that's just a coincidence of the source material though, but he does seem to be quite good at it.

And oh how I love those classic Aria-esque reaction images! I'm guessing that's indicative of Kozoue Amano's style? It feels so nostalgic.

Really looking forward to this. Very likely to be my AotS!
