did being an atheist become a meme last night or am i just hallucinating.

Btw, i dont really care what anyone says when i sneeze. The fact is the whole god bless thing is less a religions thing and more of a english colloquialism. Its the same thing when you curse and say Jesus Christ, though mostly i just say fuck and shit.

As an Atheist, I agree with this. It's just a colloquialism and I don't even think twice about it. It's just a polite gesture from one person to another acknowledging your sneeze and making it so that you don't feel awkward for making a loud ass noise and spreading germs from your nose. I even catch myself saying it to others. It's just a saying that has lost its meaning. Honestly, do religious folks here really put so much thought into it by thinking, "I want God to bless this person because they have sneezed"? It's just something you say.

Im sure they bend down and pray every night at their home built chapels for all the people who sneezed that day; hoping god will smite them with anthrax or something.

BTW, never understood the appeal of believing in a man who looks like Jerry Garcia and floats in the clouds.

Don't quote me with your hateful bullshit. Next time I'll report you. It's people like you that make atheists look bad.

I still say "bless you" to be polite. It's not the literal meaning behind the words but the act of saying them that matters.

Sort of like how you tell people "good morning" and "how are you" even though it's a crappy day and you think you think it would be easy to hate them. It's kind of like a nice-looking mask that you show people in order to keep the illusion of happiness and peace intact.

When I was young I was Buddhist, and whenever someone sneezed, I'd say "Bless You." If I sneezed and people said "Bless You, God Bless You, or that German one," I'd say ,"Thanks." Even though God wasn't important to my life, I didn't really think too much about it.

Even these days, I don't really think anything of it. It's just a kind thing I and the people around me do out of reflex. It's not like they're doing it to spite me.

I noticed these days that there are a lot of liberal social censorship to suppress and punish non-liberal thoughts. Whatever happened to tolerance? It's literally in all aspects of life now. I see a lot of businesses and people go down due to the liberal totalitarian masses. It's like they're forcing people to think their way or risk ruining their livelihood. Kind of scary.

I have my own thoughts and when I disagree with someone, I don't feel the need to destroy their lives or support such spiteful behavior. I don't even feel the need to change their thought-patterns. In this thread, there is condemnation for both Atheists and Christians, and I think that is just a sad thing.

You all arrived at your respective conclusions, why not leave each other alone?

Just wondering, since, I see your comments a lot, and they're very rarely relevant, if anyone ever actually replies to you.

Deutsch Bier, Deutsch Frau, Deutsch Herr (für sie (du)? Ich will keine Herr)... Why is the frog smoking! He looks 16!

If only I had time to go to Oktoberfest. I would have way too much fun! Next year if you're in the USA still. I suggest going to Specs and getting Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen or Ayinger Oktoberfest Märzen. They are the best beers I could find since I left Germany. They are to die for! Ayinger comes in a 500mL bottle and Hacker-Pschorr comes in the normal, but 6 instead of 4. Ayinger is a bit better, but $3.50 a bottle or so. A 6-pack of Hacker-Pschorr is about $11.00 with tax (you get 5% for paying with cash, debit or check at Specs and if your a member another dollar off). As they are Märzens, they are seasonal and you can only get them from September-October.

I say "Blaze You"

As in, I am burning you with the fire of Satan himself, because you know. Atheists are devil worshipers.

I only say "Bless you" to people in my family since they're Catholic, and my mum is fine with me not believing in [a] "God" (she doesn't either) but my father would flip if he knew I didn't believe. Other than that, I don't say it and I don't thank people outside of my home for it.

I loved that Dane Cook ep. XD
