You may like Mirai Nikki aka. Future Diary or Psycho-Pass if you like psychological horror and bloodshed, assuming you haven't seen these already. I'm really not that into the horror genre, but lots of people seem to really like Another and maybe Hell Girl. There is also Corpse Party, but I have only ever seen the game...

If you're looking for something decent to watch i could recommend "Another" or "Akame Ga Kill". They are pretty decent and "Another" is pretty creepy if you haven't seen it.

For good action stuff, pretty much anything made by Trigger is good. Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, shows like that.

If you can watch older stuff, FLCL and Samurai Champloo are amazing shows. Just, utterly brilliant.

Horror stuff I'm not too caught up on, but Higurashi makes my skin crawl every time I see it.

Definitely what Creature and Devin said about Akame Ga Kill and Psycho-Pass.

For action, I would go with Full Metal Panic Season 1, 2 and 3. Lastly, Kaze no Stigma. (Both are not on Crunchyroll)

Also, if you are looking at more of the action aspect, definitely Akame ga Kill (as others suggested) Elfen Lied, Deadman Wonderland, and Hellsing (Ultimate)

As Astrometal said too, Tokyo Ghoul, for the more action horror theme like AOT (how did I forget Tokyo Ghoul)

I'm on a big kick of watching studio Ufotable series lately. They really know how to use music and action to get the blood pumping, and would be great if you like a lot of action, deep plot, nice animation, and edgy subject material. Terraformars and God Eater are both pretty great in that regard, and available on CR.

I also just recently finished the Kara no Kyoukai movie series which they did, and was super impressed. Some of the best animation I've seen, and amazing music. Pretty confusing plot, but all together its kind of a masterpiece. Lots and lots of dark stuff in this anime.

They also animate the Fate series, but I'm only just now starting it.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica? It's pretty creepy, even if it does have magical girls in it. xD
    Deadman Wonderland is really good. Might want to read the manga after watching the anime, though. Please don't watch the dub ;-;
Have you tried Death Note yet?

I'll have to say that the Free! Eternal Summer Dub is really scary...terrifying, in fact.

These are only a few, hope this helps a bit...

Hellsing Ultimate - Hellsing, a secret organization of the British government, has long been battling supernatural threats to keep the people safe from creatures of the night. The current leader, Integra Wingates Hellsing controls her own personal army to eliminate the undead beings, but even her highly trained soldiers pale in comparison to her most trusted vampire exterminator, a man by the name of Alucard, who is actually a powerful vampire himself. Along with Integra's mysterious butler and Alucard's new vampire minion, Seras Victoria, The Hellsing Organization must face not only regular ghouls and vampires, but a rivaling secret organization from the Vatican, and Millennium, an enigmatic group of madmen spawned by a certain war over 50 years ago... A bloody battle between monsters is about to begin. The dead are dancing, and all hell is singing...

    - MC Alucard is a total OP badass, but in a awesome, not Gary Stu-ish way
    - The supporting female cast is also totally badass, no damsels in distress here (and even if they are they make it look cool)
    - Lots of action and brutal gore
    - There is a bit of dirty language due to one Juan Valentine
    - Watch the original if you want too, if only for the awesome opening theme song

Ghost Hunt - While at school, Taniyama Mai and her friends like to exchange ghost stories. Apparently, there is an abandoned school building on their campus that is the center of many ghost stories. During the story, they are interrupted by a mysterious male figure. The person turns out to be Shibuya Kazuya, a 17-year-old who is president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Company. He was called by the principal to investigate the stories surrounding the abandoned school building.

The next day, on the way to school, Mai passes the school building in question. While examining a strange camera she spotted inside, she gets surprised by Kazuya's assistant. Unknowingly interfering with the investigation, Mai breaks the camera and Kazuya's assistant gets injured.

Kazuya forcefully hires Mai in order to pay for the camera and replace his injured assistant. From that point on, Mai begins to learn about the paranormal world and the profession of ghost hunting.

    - It doesn't have as much gore of action, but it has a very suspenseful unnerving atmosphere that is awesomely creepy
    - It focuses mostly on the characters and their psyches, will certainly see a few possessed children
    - It can seem a bit uneventful at times, but then the story will pick up and you will be enthralled in how f'ed up it can be

Tokyo Ghoul - Tokyo has become a cruel and merciless city—a place where vicious creatures called “ghouls” exist alongside humans. The citizens of this once great metropolis live in constant fear of these bloodthirsty savages and their thirst for human flesh. However, the greatest threat these ghouls pose is their dangerous ability to masquerade as humans and blend in with society.

Based on the best-selling supernatural horror manga by Sui Ishida, Tokyo Ghoul follows Ken Kaneki, a shy, bookish college student, who is instantly drawn to Rize Kamishiro, an avid reader like himself. However, Rize is not exactly who she seems, and this unfortunate meeting pushes Kaneki into the dark depths of the ghouls' inhuman world. In a twist of fate, Kaneki is saved by the enigmatic waitress Touka Kirishima, and thus begins his new, secret life as a half-ghoul/half-human who must find a way to integrate into both societies.

    - Lots of gore and action (the is a pretty gruesome torture scene)
    - Really good character development
    - Beautiful animation
    - Be ready for the feels!

Psycho-Pass - he series takes place in the near future, when it is possible to instantaneously measure and quantify a person's state of mind and personality. This information is recorded and processed, and the term "Psycho-Pass" refers to a standard used to measure an individual's being. The story centers around the "enforcement officer" Shinya Kougami, who is tasked with managing crime in such a world.

In the future, it is possible to quantitatively measure a person's emotions, desires, and every inclination. In this way, it is also possible to measure a person's criminal tendency factor, which is used to judge criminals.

This is the story of a team of policemen dedicated to maintaining public order. Some of them work in the Enforcement Division, responsible for the apprehension of criminals, while others belong to the Supervisory Division which oversees their colleagues in Enforcement.

    - This anime will have you thinking, questioning your own moral standards
    - The characters are well thought out, especially the leads but the supporting could have used a but more
    - The villain is awesome and depending on your definition of freedom, might just almost have routing for him
    - Very suspenseful, the animation is very good as well (but beware Akane's eyelashes)

Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) - Middle school 2nd year, Amano Yukiteru, is a boy who has problem making friends. He thinks of himself as a bystander and will always write down everything he sees in a cell phone diary.

Tormented by solitude, Yukiteru began to imagine things like a friend called Deus Ex Machina who is apparently the Lord of Time & Space. Seeing Yukiteru's miserable state, Deus gives him a new ability. His diary will now record events that will happen in the near future. Yukiteru is then forced to participate in a game which the winner will become Deus's successor.

    - I've never watched it but one thing i know is that it is home to the Queen of Yanderes, Yuno Gasai

Another - In 1972, a popular student in Yomiyama North Middle School’s class 3-3 named Misaki passed away during the school year. Since then, the town of Yomiyama has been shrouded by a fearful atmosphere, from the dark secrets hidden deep within.

Twenty-six years later, fifteen-year-old Koichi Sakakibara transfers into class 3-3 of Yomiyama North and soon after discovers that a strange, gloomy mood seems to hang over all the students. He also finds himself drawn to the mysterious, eyepatch-wearing student Mei Misaki; however, the rest of the class and the teachers seem to treat her like she doesn't exist. Paying no heed to warnings from everyone including Mei herself, Koichi begins to get closer not only to her, but also to the truth behind the gruesome phenomenon plaguing class 3-3 of Yomiyama North.

Based on Yukito Ayatsuji's popular supernatural mystery/thriller novel, Another follows Koichi, Mei, and their classmates as they are pulled into the enigma surrounding a series of inevitable, tragic events—but unraveling the horror of Yomiyama may just cost them the ultimate price.

    - I haven't seen this either, but it's considered one of the best horror anime ever by many many people so i'd give it a shot

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Higurashi When They Cry) - After moving into the quiet town of Hinamizawa, Maebara Keiichi spends his days blissfully in school often playing games with his local friends. However, appearances can be deceiving. One fateful day, Keiichi stumbles upon news of a murder that had occurred in Hinamizawa. From this point on, horrific events unfold in front of Keiichi, as he soon learns his close friends may not be all that they seem. Based on the amateur mystery game by 07th Expansion, the story is told in a series of different scenarios.

    - I have not watched this one either, but from the clips i've seen, this anime looks sooo f'ed up, in a "I know it's awful but i can't stop looking" kind of way, unless of course that's your kind of thing
    - There are many "torture" scenes and some are sort of self inflicted
    - Home to another prominent Yandere, Shion Sonozaki
