Dear Sirs:

I realize this is just a dumping area that is not actually read nor responded to by Crunchyroll, but I thought I would once again post some issues with the Android version on a Nexus Player.

The kiddy scripting team for Android is completely fail. Upon upgrade, the Android version has become basically worthless.

When you select a anime to play, that's about the end of the function of the remote.

Pause does not work
Rewind does not work
Fast forward does not work
ONLY exit works if I need to stop a video stream for an interruption.

FORTUNATELY I kept version 0.9.6 apk, which is semi-functional but at least the Pause, Rewind, Fast Forward perform as one would expect.

Thanks for allowing me to archive my experience here (for posterity)

I will add that I will be glad to post the older Crunchyroll APK for download if you can't find it in the wild. I would recommend turning off "auto update" on your Android Device. Yea, it's a pain, but that's the price of accessing CR on an Android device.

True, this is a place where posts go to die on deaf ears. Post the APK if you dont mind.

I'm curious (I genuinely don't know) whether this is against policy. If it is, that gets a quick response.

I'm sure that it wouldn't be against policy for users to use an older version of the Android player in order to participate in their paid subscription.

I'm frustrated because CR doesn't maintain an archive download area (if they do, I didn't see it) for older versions of their player, thus allowing users to have easy rollback options because of sloppy coding or failed deployment. I beta tested their very first Android attempt and have used CR player ever since. This is normal procedure (unfortunately).

I can't remember where I got this apk (I think "freeapknow.com or something like that). I've used it since because every upgrade seems to fail spectacularly.

Please refrain from posting links to apk files from 3rd party sources, for security reasons.

Did you write a support ticket yet?

Even though past experience is not indicative of future results, it is often offers a good indication of what to expect.

Since I've have never gotten a reply nor response from any previous "support ticket" I did not issue a ticket at of yet for the 1.1.6 issues.

I'm pretty confident the result will be as all previous attempts of communication. Though this isn't something a service ticket can address, it can only make them aware that they current version of the Android product gloriously fails on the Nexus Player and they will need to address those concerns on the next release.

Also, @MrGutts and others, message me if you can't find a previous apk of the crunchyroll player

Must have been your computer, your ISP, your cookies/history, or maybe your version of Flash. That usually seems to be the cause when anything goes wrong. If not, you probably just imagined that you sent them in. (^_~)

Probably related to the odd hardware for an Android device used in the Nexus player. I'll make a bug report.

What was the last version the controls worked for? Is anyone able to record video of the menu and the parts that do not work?

Great News ... the 1.1.7 update seems to resolve the issues associated with the latest Android OS and the Nexus Player.

In the new player version the video caching is very slow and the limited ability to select video quality is not great (high or low instead of SD, 480, 720, 1080) but the expected controls of Play, Pause, FF and RW appear to function as expected.

I sincerely appreciate the player being fixed and my apologies for my less than professional tone in reporting the issue.

It started to work again in 1.1.8 for awhile, but seems to be busted again in 1.1.9.

Play, pause, ff and rw have stopped working again. Cleared cache and data and reclogged in and still the same issue.
same issue.

Restarted Nexus player and same issue.

Disabled all Bluetooth devices, still same issue.

Noticed the issue last night, was working earlier in the week.
