If you're gonna be on the offensive and expecting the next citizen you rob to have a gun somewhere, you might as well shoot them dead soon as you stepped into the store. you should be committed to your objective. if there's someone you want to rape, make sure they bleed slowly to death.

One idea Trump has that I like is forcing all states to accept your CCW.

There are stories that tug at the heartstrings on both sides. It's sad to say, but these tales should not always sway people so easily when deciding on a rule to apply to a huge population. It would be impossible to decide.

The self defense stories don't matter. It's creating a false debate because the issue has never been about whether or not guns can keep you safe, or even if owning them should be legal. Gun lobbyists try to spin it that way because they know it will get people upset and fearful.

Nobody is suggesting we outlaw guns, and they don't care if you think owning them makes you safer. They just want basic legislation to properly document and run background checks on every gun that is sold legally, and maybe a ban on high powered military grade weapons. Not so much to ask.

Gun lobbyists try to make it sound like any regulation is akin to outlawing them entirely. It's just not true.

What tax? Are you saying you are against any further regulation on guns? I think people should be able to own guns, but refusing to regulate them properly is absurd. Why shouldn't we make every effort to make sure guns are sold only to those who can handle them responsibly?

I honestly hope I never have to use any of my guns... when I was a kid someone tried to vandalize my house (my family was known for having a lot of decorations out for Halloween, my dad won a lot of awards for it, etc.), only guns we owned back then was a .22 revolver we had no ammo for (that's more of a commemorative piece anyways), and a rusty 28 gauge shotgun we had no ammo for, and using a gun on a vandal, especially here in Illinois will get you locked up. My dad was NOT happy. My dog and a baseball bat did just fine, never seen a human being run that fast in my life, lol. Never had any problems after that... knock on wood

They already run background checks in some states. The INCS may be bloated and costly, but it could be made to work more efficiently if the will was there to make it happen. Right now there is zero effective regulation because the laws vary so much state to state and are filled with loopholes. At the very least we all need to get on the same page, and that should include basic regulations.

All states.

When buying a gun from a dealer, you get a check. It's a tax on each gun sold. Loopholes loopholes loopholes, I keep hearing everybody say loopholes but there isn't any loopholes. If I hear "gun show loophole" one more time, I'm going to start kicking puppies and kittens.

You may not like to hear about it, but until both sides are content you will. After all mass shootings and gun violence aren't going away unless you get rid of guns. Eventually public opinion may shift so far that guns are banned entirely. Establishing a regulatory system that works is the best way to make sure that doesn't happen.

It makes me know that person is an idiot and nothing of value will come out of their brain so I can ignore them when they say shit like that right away.

And that is why we have trouble coming to a consensus on anything. It's easier to insult and ignore than listen and discuss.

Can't discuss when they are talking nonsense.

Just like someone that starts to babble about their street honda making 1,100 hp and getting 69 mpg. You peg my idiot bullshit meter and it's time to smile and nod and walk away.
