Hey, I've been have a problem with crunchyroll since the end of September and the beginning of this month. Every time I try to watch a show there is always constant buffering from start to finish. If I pause it for a few minutes it plays for maybe 1 minute and then buffers again. I've done the cache and cookies stuff, and I don't think the problem is my internet.

Has anyone else had this problem and was able to fix it? If so, how?

Let's start with the basic:

1. Are you using Adobe Flash or HTML 5 to stream videos? If using Adobe Flash, then make sure it is up-to-date.
2. Wired or Wireless?
3. What device? Mobile, Console, PC?

You don't mention the resolution you are trying to view. I would go with the lowest resolution to view. I have instances when I am viewing on my laptop wireless where the buffering is an issue. I just select the lower the resolution.

I often have bouts of it for several days at specific times, for example 8pm-11pm every night for four days in a row, but there is never anything I can do about it in particular, I just have to deal with it until it passes...

interestingly, whenever this does happen, it only affects my computer (no matter which computer I am using), if I switch to watching on my phone, there is no buffering at all

Crunchyroll doesn't support HTML 5 because its harder to hide behind a paywall. It's flash or bust. If you think its bad on Windows try linux it can run 2 x 3.0ghz processors to 100% usage 24/7. Adobe flash really screwed over linux

Also it seems like the CR servers are being overloaded. It's insane because I cannot watch my shows right now.

That's pretty much the same for me as well. When I use my phone I can watch with no problems.

Typically different devices use different servers.

Good, now open up a terminal in your MAC and type the following:

ping www.crunchyroll.com
(Report the "lost" percent)

Run the traceroute in this article for www.crunchyroll.com https://www.godaddy.com/help/performing-a-traceroute-in-mac-os-x-3366

You should see numbers like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7....18 as it continues. Let me know what number it stops at or if you see any request times out.

I usually try to watch it in 1080p if available. BUT when I was re watching bleach which only came in 480p it was still buffering.

Are you connected using a 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz wireless connection? 2.4 may suffer from more interference on a crowded band and slower speeds while 5 has a lower effective range.
