So I had a free trial and the service isn't bad, but its much the same as the hundreds of free streaming sites, trying to cancel my subscription over the last couple of days before my payment came out as every thing says doing so will instantly stop your access even if you have paid and after completing the survey it just tells me we can't cancel your subscription at this time an now I'm pretty sure they are charging me for another month... If they have can I get the repeat payments canceled or my account killed and any money taken refunded?

I've taken the pending charge of your account.

As you might know, none of those "free" streaming sites are legal or return any of the revenue to the creators of the shows, unlike our service. If you want to improve the legal availability of anime in your country, you should keep in mind that using those other websites hurts the industry a lot.

You're being generous in one aspect: Many if not most "free" streaming sites offer markedly better service, because they aren't fettered by contractual restrictions to use poorly-translated subtitles, or to wait for days or weeks or months, or to use technology that practically forbids buffering (let alone server issues and insufficient burst capacity).

But the right thing to do isn't necessarily to abandon CR (or Funimation, or whoever) altogether. For many purposes, it's true that the best available service is not CR. But given that they've paid for the rights to bring over X anime or Y manga, and some part of that money goes to the creators (and especially given that some sites steal and offer CR's content - just with better service), I continue to pay CR for the time being* because I believe it's the right thing to do.

* - The "hacked" accounts issue and the fact that CR apparently refuses to let you delete your card information (unless you provide a new valid card), then allows any charges made on that card to go through without adequate confirmation, may be the final straw. If they drop this requirement and allow customers to take their card information off file until charges need to be made, I'll probably continue my account. If not, I'm not sure.
