I am posting this on my wife/stepsons crunchyroll account. I was billed 10/1/2015 for 6.95$ from crunchy roll. I submitted a request via the website with all the needed information and no one has gotten back to me. This was 3 days ago now. I would like to log in and get what I paid for... 10 days now and I have no access.

I was billed for crunchyroll but do not know the email or password used for my account. Can you tell me what email was used? There is a chance i may not have access to the email address depending on what email address is on file. If that is the case can my account be changed to a email i actually have access to...

I answered the following questions in the email i sent to crunchyroll

The amount charged :
The date of the transaction
If you are being billed from a credit card:
Your full name as it appears on your credit card:
The brand of your credit card (e.g. Visa):
The last 4 digits of your credit card number:
The expiration date of your credit card:
The billing zip code of your credit card

This is part of the auto-generated email i got

Thank you for contacting Crunchyroll's Support Team!

Someone from our Support Team will be reaching out to you very soon! Due to the steady flow of email inquiries, we may be unable to respond to your request immediately, however we will work our hardest to get you a response within two business days. While we may not be able to offer direct assistance for all support requests we receive, we will continue to provide direct support for all billing issues and for all Premium Members. For your convenience, we have created a straight-forward set of Help Topics or FAQs which answer many of the most common questions people have regarding Crunchyroll. We will be working to keep these Help Topics up-to-date, so please take a minute to look them over and see if they answer your question(s).

So is it only a maybe that someone will get back to me? I tried calling the phone number listed on my billing statement for crunchyroll but it is a voice mail and at the end of it they say they don't really check those voicemails.

They will definitely get back to you, have no fears. Once they start correspondence with you, they're pretty quick to figure out/help you with your problem.

I had to email them about some stuff too, and it did take 4-5 days for me to get an email response, but once I got the emails, it was a quick process.

I hope I'm misunderstanding you, but just making sure: Is the system telling you that the email you think you used isn't actually in the system? If so and you have a way to check the charges being made on your card, do so right now - don't wait for the next statement.

A disturbing number of people have been reporting that their account was compromised somehow for quite a while now, and the vast majority of them also report that the intruder changes the email so that they can't reset the password. CR won't send the email you provided a notification when this happens, they only send it to the new email the intruder provides. (Makes no sense to me, but I'm not CR.)

They also allow the intruder to buy anything in the CR store on your card, since you obviously wanted to use it for more than just a subscription. (They also don't allow you to delete or de-authorize the card until the period you've already paid for expires, but that's not important to you at the moment.)

I'm quite fond of Crunchyroll, understand the role such a site provides, and subscribe to it. But of all the idiotic security practices commercial sites take out there, it's definitely among the nominees for the top CAKE with this 'practice'...

The issue has been re-iterated on these boards, time and time again, so I'm not sure they listen to us that much...

Nonetheless, I've had my card compromised once before, and have procedures in place should that happen again. Crunchyroll is on the list, where if ANY unusual activity occurs, I'll have the card blocked IMMEDIATELY once I become aware of an issue (and my bank is also fortunately very quick to react to such incidences as well). It'll be a pain in the behind to update sites where I'm/I've using/used this card, but if it happens, it happens...

But you'd think Crunchyroll would want to do something about an issue, especially one that has the very real potential to drive prospective customers away...

There's been a semi-official response. (Granted, it was a brushoff, but at least they're acknowledging that they could do something about the poor security. They just don't want to.)
