A few days ago I quit my debate team, during that time to now I had been wondering about a certain member of that group, the valedictorian-to-be. Looking at his achievements he has above a 4.5 gpa (even I must admit I’m impressed) is in 4 sports, like 10 clubs(a bunch of them having to do with helping people, current events, and the enviornment) and has not been absent or even late to school. To tell you the truth I do kind of believe he is perfect, but that just my opinion and experience with the topic.
So I’ll ask it right now, do you believe in perfection and why?

You might never know what skeletons he has in his closet (Light?). He might be a serial killer (Kira?) for all you know. Being a Christian, I'm suppose to say "No, no ones perfect only God is"

nope i don't believe in perfection. we all have flaws in ourselves. Other people sometimes can not see it but within ourselves we
know that we have imperfections or so called flaws...

If you're happy, nothing else matters!

Along these lines (even though exceptions could be noted): as general perfection is subjective, one who is unhappy because of his conception of perfection has only his own mind to blame. In other words, if you are unhappy because you feel you are imperfect, either abandon the very concept or re-define it to become more manageable or even to fit you as you are now.

Too often we forget the meaning and purpose of our ideals (more often than not, it is simply to be happy) as we chase after them.

Perfection is merely the complete realisation of all ideals. In other words: it's completely subjective. If you have many ideals that are hard to attain, you are less likely to encounter perfection. If you have few and easily attainable, then you are more likely to meet with perfection. For some with more nihilistic tendencies, perfection is simply an idea other people entertain. Perfection and imperfection is just beyond their view of the world. It is an idea other people toy with. This being said, I in fact have no reason to ever write another post here. It would be like writing about beauty. Sure you can, and you can get some of the people to agree with your views, but it being subjective you can never come to any conclusion, except if you believe that something subjective is objective, which some people do, especially when it comes to ethics, but declaring that some people just must be wrong when they are just being as subjective as you are is a pointless waste of time.

Pefection does exist to individuals. Some new parents will tell you that their little baby is perfect and there's nothing anybody can say to persuade them otherwise. Pefect people like the one dj catmix described creep me out.

i kinda scared for her girlfriend...lol..

nah! i don't believe in perfection.
Perfection does not exist, because if it does, then life will be pretty darn boring.
Topnotchers in the academe are not the best example of perfection... they actually suck at it.

I've never met a perfect person. There is always that little 'something' they don't have.

nope.
i don't believe in perfection.
its excellence i believe in.
perfection is doing everything perfectly, without flaws.
excellence is doing your best.

and what made me believe more that perfection can't exist is that when i was told that i can no longer be a candidate for valedictorian. ouch. there is only one remaining candidate so it will now surely be her. but she's far from perfect. she's neither the encyclopedia nor calculator of the class. she's just excellent in doing things. she totally commits herself in finishing school stuff.
