Hey guys,

So I recently graduated from university, and got a job pretty far away from where I currently live. I'm going to move from Eastern Canada to Western Canada (to Vancouver, BC). It's pretty much moving from one end of the continent to the other end. I'm quite nervous, since I'm moving to a new place where I won't have friends or family (at least not yet). And then there are other troubles, like renting a new place to live and the moving process. I've moved before when I went to university, but this feels different somehow, and I'm a lot more nervous and feel kinda lonely

Anyhow, I'm sure some of you have had to move away by yourself at some point. How was your story? If you have some tips to share from your experience, please feel free to share those as well!

Well, the most I've been away from family because of jobs was for about a few month at different times, but during those separate instances, I realized something: there are friends and enemies no matter where you go, you just need to be tolerant with friendly people and brutal with jerks.

I'm actually kind of a loner, so it's pretty easy for me to adapt, and I've gotten used to radical or violent changes, for example, I've experienced the death of loved ones and people I knew while I was away, and you learn to control yourself emotionally. When you feel nostalgic, alone or sad, just breathe steadily and calmly, you will be able to handle anything.

On the bright side, it's an exciting adventure, a lot of people would probably like to be in your shoes, ready to experiment new things, so, enjoy it!

Good luck young man/woman, let us know how you fare, maybe that way you won't feel lonely?

Thank you for the advice. I am quite excited to go to a new place, but I guess my nervousness is overshadowing my excitement right now. Perhaps I'll feel more excited once I settle down at my new place

I'll hang around the CR forum for sure so I won't feel as lonely haha.
