Post Reply Being Billed w/ no account - Support Won't Respond
Posted 10/12/15
I'm kind of desperate at this point since it's been 8 days since I sent in the ticket, but I signed up for the free trial, put in my card info and watched what I wanted to watch in the time. A few days pass, and I try to log in to cancel the charges and it says my account doesn't exist. I only use 2 email adresses for most things, and according to crunchyroll an account doesn't exist on either. I was hoping support would respond so I wouldn't have to make another account however it hasn't so here I am being billed for a service I can't access. I can send the email account I used to send in the ticket in a PM to a mod or support rep, but otherwise I'm kind of at a a loss for what to do.

I hope I'm being overcautious in worrying about this, but if you have a way to check the charges being made on your card, do so right now - don't wait for the next statement.

A disturbing number of people have been reporting that their account was compromised somehow for quite a while now, and the vast majority of them also report that the intruder changes the email so that they can't reset the password. CR won't send a notification to the email you provided when this happens, they only send it to the new email the intruder provides. (Makes no sense to me, but I'm not CR.)

They also allow the intruder to buy anything in the CR store on your card, since you obviously wanted to use it for more than just a subscription. (They also don't allow you to delete or de-authorize the card until the period you've already paid for expires, but that's not important to you at the moment.)

I have the banking app on my phone that allows me to see the charges and all, and so far nothing suspicious has popped up. Here's hoping it's just a bug or maybe I messed something up as opposed to my account being compromised. I just wonder how they'd gain access to my account. It would make sense that they changed the email and I didn't get any sort of notification on it. Support pls respond. ;=;
