It's extremely niche, and it has a very distinct tone and style that can heavily alter the experience.

I mean, I love 80s rock just as much as Hirohiko Araki, but the genre isn't really a good fit for most anime.

I guess that's the reason we won't see a lot of newer American or western cartoons with jazz soundtracks in this lifetime. Jazz may be niche, but at least it can adapt to change.

P.S A certain someone who seems to act like a weeaboo around here needs to re-read the topic and American cartoons, which he is inconsiderate or forgetful about, are part of this discussion.

Well, if you mean soundtracks centered around jazz, I hardly see anything, live-action included, that is based around jazz. You need a specific theme to your story for that to work out. But if you just mean soundtracks that include jazz, you can often hear it as a background track. There's a lot of swing too. I perused a few of the OST's I own for a few examples:

Gurren Lagann
Rolling Girls
Haikyu!!
Kyousougiga
Monogatari
Humanity Has Declined

Edit: Don't own Blood Blockade Battlefront's OST, but I seem to remember a lot of jazz/swing/blues type stuff.

Jazz is a very (not uniquely, but very) American form of music. It just doesn't seem to fit with a lot of anime. I suspect it's not very popular in Japan, and therefore not part of the cultural background, as it more or less is in the States. I also suspect it's audience is 'older' (like myself), and therefore somewhat outside of the normal audience for some anime and cartoons.

That said, if it could be incorporated into a show without seeming too incongruous, I'd be all for it. Far better than the usual fluffy, forgettable pop nonsense.

No one's mentioned Gunsmith Cats which has a Jazz and Blues music with an opening very similar to Cowboy Bebop...

I was just about to mention KOTS when I saw this thread. One of my favorite slice of life animes, and I loved the ending of the final episode.
