I watched. Pretty standard stuff, with the exception of people actually taking Bernie seriously now. Shows how discontent people are. He was fun to watch though, not often you get to hear a front runner call for outright socialist revolution.

Hillary was herself, a slick competent politician. She didn't screw up, but also didn't bring anything new to the table.

Webb was bizarre. He spent half his time complaining about how little time he was getting, and most of the rest bitching about China. Then that comment about how the enemy he was most proud of is the guy who tried to kill him in Nam (who he hinted he killed lmao).

The others were just there to take up space. Totally irrelevant, they are running for vice president.

Just throwing this out there but Carson has 0 experience in politics, and clearly doesn't know much about science outside of the brain, as he truly believes evolution is a myth, climate change is a myth, and that the world is like 6,000 years old or something. Also he said that being gay was a choice and that straight people left prison gay, and also says that Muslim people should not be president.

I don't want to bag on the guy tat much, but he clearly isn't capable of handling the issue of climate change - much less anything else. I'm sure the middle east will be willing to work on him since he doesn't think people of the Islamic faith are capable of presidency.

Economically, I just don't agree with the right - but socially he's on the complete other side of Sanders.

Watching Carson in the debates I was mostly left thinking "this guy is a little soft, but he's alright", and then I started hearing about the crazy stuff he says outside of the debates. I feel like he holds no political presence to actually get things done. While an outsider, he isn't one with strong beliefs for change, he mostly seems like he would simply let his advisers pull him around. Scientifically he seems like a tangle of all the worse parts of conservatism, and while his politics don't seem terrible (I think his tiered minimum wage proposal was a pretty great idea that I would love to see Bernie pick up), he just isn't anywhere near strong enough to actually be able to change things in a meaningful way...

No. The only person I recognize was Hilary Clinton.

I've seen the entire Republican Debate though. Thought it was pretty entertaining.

More of the same. You're basically voting for the person whom you feel will F up the country the least during the next four years.

Sorta like every election in the past 50 years.

They aren't exactly equivalent. Also, I would say that a lot of people would disagree with the blanket statement "we can't control guns".

Drug/Gun legislation focuses on crimes against the self AND crimes against another person ...like using a gun to rob a store to buy drugs or to commit suicide (murder/suicide).

I'll catch the recap of this Democratic clown show later ...the Republican debates were far more interesting.

Sen. Sanders strikes me as more a social democrat than a democratic socialist, which is perfectly fine. The US could do with more social democrats in its political life. Still, it's really not honest to call Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland socialist societies. They're still capitalist, just very egalitarian. They're modern social democracies. The pursuit of transition to a socialist system has ceased in these countries for the most part, though there are parties that still want to continue that advance.

But really, with labour union participation rates, labour protections, provisions to promote opportunity, and safety nets like those countries have there isn't really much of a point in doing so.

No, I get my news from The Daily Show. It's the only real news source.

Obviously rigged. Joe Biden isn't even running yet. How is Al Gore even on that list?

The amount of news networks claiming Hillary won the debate last night is disturbing. She spent half the time standing there smirking and the other half either copying Bernie's answers, dodging questions, or playing the woman card. Apparently, just standing straight and smiling is enough to get all the major news networks to believe that you've won a debate...
