For me, it's not what I can accomplish in a limited time frame, but what I could see and experience with an unlimited time frame.

Adding in VR, or possibly a full scale simulation, removes even more limits. I could choose to experience life on a New England farm in the 1800's or even life on a farm in the Shire.

Eh I would still refuse life extension especially if I still had to work. Could you imagine a world were you can live forever but no retirement gotta work forever to keep up your treatments sounds nightmarish.

The magic of compound interest is, you don't need to invest a lot. A small initial investment + time = wealth.

$20 a week when you are 20 years old is a more meaningful investment than $500 a week when you are 50. Extend your lifespan and you extend the time available for the magic of compounding interest.

Sure, let's not focus on important matters but on motherf**kin VR.

Well aren't you a killjoy.
"If you're not donating 100% of your paycheck to poor people, your matters are misplaced! If you're talking about video games instead of gun control, you're an idiot!"

Not what I said, not what I meant.

Care to explain? It seems to me you're bitching about people not talking important manners, as if we're suppose to dedicate 100% of our lives to important manners and not hobbies and miscellany.

Didn't you know all the scientists in the world are only capable of working on one thing at a time. /s

I hope like NEVER! But then again I'm an antediluvian luddite. Or rather I am leaning in that direction more and more each day. I am actually eagerly awaiting that big geomagnetic storm that will disable satellites and knock out the Earth's electronic grid. Fun times!

Well we DO have tech that can allow us to move limbs with just our mind.

I personally don't think Full Dive technology would even be released for consumer yet alone the military any time soon. We're on the brink of Virtual Reality headsets and its usage isn't anywhere near deeply acculturated into our society yet. It's likely a few decades off. Neurologists say we don't even know much about the brain yet to even manipulate it safely.

Even if not full dive, we can get pretty damn close. Only thing stopping us is $$$ IMO.

Prices will drop as the technology improves.

Some of the VR/Augmented reality headsets are supposed to come out around the $100 mark next year.

Take the average of all the thoughtful guesses and then multiply it by 1.5. Usually we don't need to multiply it by 1.5 but if people actually thought today would be futuristic then we need to multiply it by 1.5. Wisdom of the crowds and all that.

so lets say 2030 is the year but then it would take another 10-20 years probably for it to be commercially sold. The only people who would have it by then would be the super wealthy
