I just figured it out, it's on the Wii Shop channel but it's under WiiWare instead of Wii Channels. They should probably mention that or something lol.

Thank you so much, I was looking for it in the Wii Channels a few hours ago and didn't find it, so I thought that maybe it was going to take some time to show up in the Wii Shop of my country .

But tomorrow I'll look for it in the WiiWare section to download it

Um... OK? Sure took you guys a while considering we're already in the next gen of video games, and Wii is like two generations behind...

OK, I'm just gonna come out and say this: Was this really even necessary? Who even uses a Wii anymore? And why would I when it only supports 480p?

I mean, I guess it's a good thing for those who can't afford current gen consoles, but wouldn't those people just use a computer?

I dunno, it just doesn't really make much sense to put Crunchy on Wii this late in the game. It's not a bad thing, just kinda pointless.

While it is very cool that Crunchyroll is finally available on Wii as another streaming service, it does have issues which the Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, or Netflix applications/Channels do not have. It does work, but it does seem buggy. I tried it out and it hard-crashed my system three minutes into the episode. ._. So, yeah, not the best start, but it's finally here, so it's hard to complain.

Random note, because it's classified as a WiiWare title for whatever reason, it's also available to download in the Wii U's Wii Mode Wii Shop Channel as well, so collectors, grab it just in case they decide to remove it from Wii Mode's Wii Shop Channel.

To watch TV on a TV (from an comfy chair) rather than at the computer (on a swivel chair) maybe?
Not everyone likes watching stuff at the computer.

OK, it's not as powerful or display-rich as current consoles or settop boxes but not everyone has those. Also, it's not always just the cost of the new device itself. If your TV area already has all of its spaces, plugs and HDMI inputs full then there's nowhere to put a new console or streaming box.
Getting a bit more use out of existing kit can be nice when you don't have to rush into an all-or-nothing upgrade too quickly.

Nice for every Wii owner who for whatever reason don't have any other new consoles and I know a lot people who only have a Wii.

I really wish I'd grabbed a screenshot of the April Fool's Day Gameboy announcement a few years back.

ETA: No need for screencap; it turns out as it's still right here in site news:

This actually makes me want to hook ye olde Wii to my bedroom telly.
Ever since I purchased a Wii U the poor thing has done nothing but collect dust and my bedroom tv isn't a full HD one so 480p isn't really an issue either.

Helo there! Testing on The Wii, very fluid iu,
but really bad streaming quality, like watching realvideo in 1999,
I check The quality of The netflix stream on The Wii also and does not have the same issue as the Crunchyroll one.
Man, i miss my SmartTv crunchy app

IIRC, the SmartTV apps used the same display resolution, at least on Samsung. The image quality is bound to be a little inferior, as the Wii does not have digital video output, but uses a composite cable.

I'll join the chorus in asking why do this? I haven't met the person who would be thrilled by this update. Plus aren't the videos limited to Standard Def?

Instant download, while I see Crunchy in Wii I can play in my gamepad in Wii U.
